hey all,
I purchased my 5g ipod video from apple.com and it doesn't work for some reason. i think the hard drive is dead. i want to return it but dont want to ship it to apple and then have apple ship me a new one. (takes too long). is it possible to go to futureshop or bestbuy and return it there even though i didnt purchase it from them?
thanks,
ipaqman

Well, its not ethical, but you can go to a local BB or FS, buy a new one, and return the defective one for a refund. As long as its not engraved. I don't think BB or FS keep track of serial numbers..

i think you require a receipt for best buy. well if you take it to the apple store, i'm only guessing that they'll just give you another one on the spot. and just walk away with that one.

This fellow is obviously from Canada.. and there is only *one* Apple Store in Canada... it's not as easy as people in the US, where you can just drive to the local Apple Store in your city. Mailing stuff back and forth is just too much hassle.
Just do what I suggested up above..

Heres what I would do: Find a kid in a wheel chair that has an iPod and push them over. They won'y be able to crawl away fast enough.
