I have a 20g ipod that has the latest update on it and latest itunes. The ipod only seems to have 6.6 gigs on it, 4.49 used, 1.5 avaliable, which means itunes will not automatically update the songs when attaching. All my current songs are on the ipod, but they don't show up in itunes after you slect the ipod, only some podcasts I have saved. Also the podcasts do not show up on the ipod itself. The computer it was originally connected to died and I moved all my songs on teh ipod to my work computer. What am I doing wrong?
thanks

Restore the iPod using the Updater then resync the iPod.

I have done that several times. The first time I backed up the songs, removed itunes program, then restored the ipod, reinstalled itunes, restored the music folder, then plugged in the ipod. At the bottom with the statistics the ipod showed 18.3g. Itunes updated the ipod with all my songs. Somewhere after that the ipod statistics only showed 4.97g with 1.49 available. All my songs were on the ipod but do not show up in the ipod window in itunes, only some podcasts. Following your suggestion I restored the ipod and it still shows 4.97g used. The error message is Itunes cannot update the ipod because there is not enough storage. Would I like to do a selection. There are only 2.15g currently in the library. ipod about says 18.5g. Itunes info shows 4.88g used 1.58 available. The updater for the ipod says CAPACITY: 6.6 gigs. Is this what the problem is? What do I do now?
