i need to rip the songs off my iPod onto my hardrive...(so shoot me, i'm a noob)

i had to reformat my hardrive because of a nasty virus. i have all of my songs on my iPod, downloaded like normal through iTunes. how can i rip them off of my iPod and back into iTunes?

i am sorry if this is a repeat topic but i couldn't really make sense of anything else i could find.
