Has anyone actually seen in the shops, or heard from Speck about
http://www.speckproducts.com/nano-armband.html
I have been waiting for a while and heard nothing.
They haven't replied to any email inquiries
I have seen lots of posts about this before, but just wondering if there has been any movement in the last week or so???

I know nothing about the arm band, but Speck was extremely responsive when I e-mailed them about the status of my SkinTight Deluxe. We even had several replies back and forth and the person gave me a tip that they would probably ship sooner than expected. So I'm surprised you haven't had any response.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. So far I would give it a "C".
Here are my impressions.
First, the good news. The build quality seems very good, parts are sturdy. The sleeve has the exact same hard plastic screen cover that the zCover case has (which I also have), which is excellent from a protection and vision point of view. The armband is relatively thin and affords a wide range of adjustment. As an average size male I can't comment on whether it will fit you extra-pumped-up guys. The sleeve is also pretty easy to get on and off. The whole unit is also light and comfortable once you've got it on.
Now, the not-so-good news. The armband does not have much stretch or give to it, so getting it fitted snugly can be a bit fiddly. The material the armband is made of does not breathe, so it gets sweatier than my old DLO for my old mini. The nano (with sleeve on) snaps into the plastic holder on the armband reasonably well, but IMO could be a bit tighter--pushing on one end (say, to lock or unlock) pushes the nano down the holder.
The biggest issue in my mind is lack of protection overall. The click wheel is not covered, which means it's easier to use than with the ZCover case, for example, but for armband use I don't think that's a good tradeoff. Similarly, the top of the nano and the bottom are totally exposed. Again, easier to use the lock button but I would prefer to have it covered like the zCover. I suppose the bottom is uncovered in most cases, as it is on both the Speck and the zCover.
So overall, there's pros and cons. I would have been happier if I could have used the zCover case with the Speck armband and holder; unfortunately, the Speck case is thicker, and therefore when I tried putting the zCover case in the armband holder, it was too loose. Also, you can't use the holder with a different armband as the holder is screwed securely into the armband. I suppose you could try unscrewing it, punching holes in a different armband, and rescrewing, but I'm not that adventurous.
I will probably keep an eye out for other armband designs going forward. The Speck will do for now but I would prefer something with a more breathable armband and a more protective case.
