iMac DV charges iPod through firewire when shut down!

This probably belongs somewhere else but this is the most read forum so...

When I put my iMac DV to sleep, the iPod still displays charging on the screen, and I seem to remember Apple saying the iPod wont charge when the computer is alseep. Also when I shut down the computer it still displays charging! This is annoying because I want to keep the iPod in the dock but don't want power being pumped into it all the time, and I am not sure if it would damage the iPod or something.

I don't see what crisis your having right now. Most people would kill to get features like that.

And no, it won't harm your iPod by charging it constantly like that, infact it's recommended by sony (inventor of lith ion batteries) for you to charge as often.
