Pdair has a bunch of cases out now. basic silicone ones, which are only 9bucks, and free shipping, unless imissed something. I emailed, tey said they'll be releasing a metal case for it early this month. I liked the nano metal case, so i might look into that for this too.

o ya, and its free worldwide shipping with them!
lol, and no i dont work for them i just think that thats cool, a lot of these companies dont provide their cases to retail stores, or atleast not yet, and then u get suckered in to paying for shipping. i really wish i cud just walk in to best buy and look at these cases...
o well, shudnt complain too must about the internet

lol, not that anyone else seems to care, but i wrote PDAir about their aluminum case and they said this :
"Hi,
Yes, will be release on 20 Nov'05.
Your truly,
PDair Workshop"
They are truely mine. I hope they're nice and not too expensive. The nano case had a screen cover on it, and im not too worried a clickwheel cover as i hope to be getting my MF sometime soon.
plus, free shipping worldwide! i might pick up one of their silocone cases...i like the deep blue one

I ordered one of their silicone cases, should be here sometime next week I'll post a photo or two and tell how it is. After all $9 for a case even if it is only temporary is a pretty good deal.

ya, thats what i said. let us kno when u get it...
in other news, their aluminum case is now on their site for preorder - i preordered see0thru cases from speck already and have written them 3 times in the last 2 weeks asking them to cancel, and ive gotten no response,a nd they havent given a phone number - this is sucky. the pdair case is 28bucks shiped, and looks nice (just a bit big, but i dun mind at all, for this kinda protection. but i cant order until i kno i can cancel these speck cases. worst case ill sell them individually on ebay and make up all the costs... i hope!
anyways, heres the pdair case:

the sites a bit slow, so just let it load and then do something else for a few mins while it does...my only concern is the thickness...other than that its nice

Sid:
Sorry, but I DO have an "issue" with ordering stuff from offshore (non-USA) companies.
1. Shipping will take an eon (unless I want to spend $$$ for expedited delivery). And returns exacerbate the problem.
2. DESPITE the protections afforded by a credit card, there IS a risk of MORE credit card problems when dealing offshore.
3. If their products are high-quality, I should expect some US company would want to distribute them. Example: Martin Fields. When a US distributor offers them, I'd surely consider them.
But that's MY opinion! :)
PS: their web site takes a looong time to load each page! :(

Sid:
BEFORE you do anything, keep your eyes open.
Reason: SOON (probably in two days or less), I'll be posting a COMPREHENSIVE review of a number of silicone cases I've received.

breeze: thanks for the info :) personally, i hate silicone cases cuz of the way they take me hours to get outta my pocket, and the way they collect lint while on there...but i do like the feel of em and the grip they provide..

You pay them via Paypal and they sent me an email stating that they send via airmail and I should have it within 10-12 working days. I'm not concerned about them stealing my CC info since they use Paypal to process their CC orders, it's only $9 and it's a temporary solution. No big deal to me if it takes a little longer all of the other case dealers are charging $5-$10 for shipping and charging 2-3 times more for a silicone case.

I got mine today and to be honest for $9 it's a great case and it only took 7 days to get from Hong Kong to New Hampshire, the silicone is smooth and not tacky at all and the fit is great. I'll post a few pics a little later.

The first thing you notice about the case is how smooth and non-tacky it is, it came with little tabs on both sides at the bottom to use the included neck strap, I wasn't going to use it so I did away with them pretty quick using my trusty exacto knife. This plus my Martin Fields shield equals complete protection for under $25. :D

The fit is snug but no to snug and the iPod easily slid into the case. I've tried four different headphones with four diffent plugs and they all snapped into place nicely.

they all look nice! i think i might get one of these, instead of the aluminum case....tho i sent my iPOd back to apple, and probably wont get another back until middecember (big mistake on my part!)...so ill hold off a few weeks and see what else comes out...these definatly seem like a good minimalist option, but i think id still like a hard metal case...just worried that itll make it too bulky

I got my case 7 days from when they sent me an email saying that they sent it, I live in New Hampshire (doesn't get much more east coast than that).

Perfect, thanks. Can't wait for mine to arrive. the "Do not steal music" sticker and s sock inside an eyeglass case will have to do until then :)

My PDAir case arrived today (for those who aren't aware, they ship from Hong Kong, but it took less than a week to get here). The aluminum case is great. It adds very little thickness for the protection it offers.
My only complaint, the lanyard is a bit on the cheesy side, but does the job. I also put on the fron piece of their clear screen protector, so now I feel fairly confident carrying this thing around.
