Hi guys,

For a long while, I've settled with the stock apple earbuds, although not great, they produce flat, pure sound, reasonable as that may be.

I've decided to upgrade towards better earbuds, and I've been wondering what are the best ones (earbuds, not ear canals or anything, just the basic ones), black tainted to match my black nano, and are approximately under 70$ CAN (that's around 60$ US), don't feel like spending more than a 100.

Also, I'm a rock / acoustic music fan, so that could isolate the preference a little more.

I'm looking into one of those sony black earbuds, but I'm still undecided. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

rock/acoustic type of songs dont need phones that have heaps of bass like some ive read around here... i have sony black earbuds (mdr-e888lp) and ive really happy with them, sound is really clear and its a good all round earbud... i think it would be perfect for you, the downsides to the earbuds are that they take awhile to burn in so give it some chance, and make sure they fit nicely in your ear otherwise they may sound average... see what other people say but IMO your best bet would be the 888's

I guess those sony's are worth a try, but most audiophiles will tell you that they're not worth it unless it's Sennheiser.

Try the MX-400 or MX-500 series. But are said to be outstanding for earphones, and especially price.

I'm looking into the models you pointed out NawdaKh, the MX-400 and MX-500, as well as the MDR-EX81 (A rating on iLounge), MDR-e888lp )v(ajin_R_ pointed out for me. In terms of prices, I can afford any of 'em, just a matter of choosing the best bang for the buck.
Any reccommendations between those 3 products, or if not, any other recommendations? I'm trying to find black earbuds (not headphones) for my black iPod Nano to match its look.

I also recommend the audio technica ath-cm3! This earbuds look decent and the sound quality are not bad at all. You are going to happy with every bucks you spent!.

But if you really look into things, any audiophile will tell you to not even touch ear buds. Every single one will tell you to go canal phones, or some over-the-ears.

If you're interested, there's some AWESOME headphones in your price range that will bump you into the low-end audiophile range. I would try out Sennheiser HD-201s.

If you're looking for portability, the Sennheiser PX 100s are an amazing upgrade.

Just depends on what you want, but I suggest at least trying some low-end over-the-ear headphones.

Woah, those HD-201 models by Sennheiser look sick! I like it ^^ Great, now I'm confused. I love bass, but I love also like sound-isolating headphones (yes, those that go on the head), because I'm often in subway lines and in public transportation, and it gets quite loud, and I don't enjoy cranking up volume, I don't want to damage my ears just because I can't hear it doesn't mean my ears can get damaged by it. I'll keep a tab on those HD-201s, NawdaKh, do they have good bass sound?

E888 has really good sound, it's one of the best earphones you can get for under $60 in warehouse123.com. It has deep sound, you can feel the base really well. The only thing that I don't like is the weakness of this earphone.I don't dare to twist this earphone, and I don't put this earphone in my pocket. If you are going to buy this earphone, then you will need a great care for this earphone.
