Hey all - I have been lurking for a few weeks now since I got my first ipod. I wanted to see if some of you could help me.

I bought a pair of Sony MDR-EX71SLs about 2 years ago. For 2 years I have been putting them back into an Altoids tin when I was finished with them. The one time I didn't I found my cat chewing through the cord and apparently I had the non disentigrating cord as well!

I chopped the cord from an old set of headphones. I took apart the EX71SL 'buds' and soldered the new cord on the left driver. Our new baby started crying and I went to check on her. When I came back I found that the cat had swiped the right driver off into the carpet and I cannot find it.

I have read that some of you snacthed the cord out of your MDR-EX51LP/EX71SLs or your cord disentigrated.

Is there anyone here that would be willing to donate the drivers (or a driver) from an old set to me? I have the casing I just need the driver.

We have a new baby and the budget is a little tight. I know I can buy a new pair inexpensively, but I have already fixed one driver and I kinda wanted to finish the project plus diapers, wipes, and the cost of gas is really bumming me out right now.

Thanks for your help.

If you can't find someone to give you some, I don't know if this helps, but Amazon is running the EX51's for $23.99 right now. I just ordered myself a pair!

Ok thanks - I will keep that in mind.

Another reason I was hoping to save my 71s was because I would like to have them going to use as a backup pair when I cut grass and work in the yard.

I bought a shuffle when Staples had the 1GB for $100. I had it price matched at Best Buy. I had a $50 gift card that I had from LAST christmas, so I ended up paying $50 for the 1GB shuffle. It is the best bordom killer while cutting grass.
