I never doubted that the Ipod was THE MP3 player to own. However, I could never justify the monetary investment. Most of my music listening is done in my home theater or car and with two memory cards, my Lyra seemed perfectly suited for the gym, walks, mowing the lawn or lounging around.

But since I had some disposable income lying around this month, I took the plunge on the new 30-gig Windows Ipod. In short, does anybody want to buy a mint-condition Lyra? You guys certainly don't need somebody else to tell you this, but man is this contraption one of the neatest devices I own. I've already imported nearly 17 gigs of music onto it - including nearly my entire CD collection - I have my contacts on it and I'm getting the car adapter and a couple of carrying cases.

Thanks to those who steered me toward MC9 also. I've long been a fan of MMJB for ripping and listening on my computer, but it was so troublesome with the Ipod that I tried the trial version of MC9 and won't be using MMJB any longer. And Outpod is a great freeware program for exporting Outlook contacts onto the Ipod. Who the hell needs a PDA when you have this?

Consider me glad to have joined the Ipod community. Much like DVD-Audio and SACD, the Ipod has really renewed my interest in music. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning.

EDIT - The good feelings continued this morning as I was notified via e-mail that I'd won one of the Ipod armor cases in the drawing. Woo-hoo! Loving this Ipod!
