Does anyone know if the upcomming Vaja 5G case will allow for access to the bottom port for anything bigger then the synching cable? The 4G case does not allow for accessories like the PocketDock (it does allow for the Sik product though) - I would think Vaja would want to allow more access to the bottom port since Apple got rid of the top extended headphone port...
When I emailed Vaja to enquire when the 5G case would be out, they asked me if there was anything that I wanted. I asked if the bottom would allow room for a pocket dock, hopefully there will be a larger space...
I have the 3G vaja case and it annoys me the pocket dock dont fit in the bottom...
Still going to buy one even if it don't allow the pocket dock though :)

No disrespect, but not just people under 30 have iPods. I'm a business owner, so that's how I afford Vaja cases. If I spend this much on an mp3 player, it's worth it to get a good case to protect it.

I have to agree with kailess, I've owned 4 i-Vods and one Classic Case and I don't regret paying for any of them. If you're spending 400.00 on an iPod, it's worth the extra investment to have a good case to go with it.
You'd hate to buy a priceless painting and put it in a Walmart frame.

Also, to hopefully help out, I hope I understood you right kailess, but yes the i-Vod and Classic cases do cover the wheel iff you purchase the optional wheel protector. I however, have to not recommend the DJ wheel protector due to its incredibly hard plastic and inability to operate the iPod easily. I thought it would just wear in after awhile but no, still strong as ever.

I tried inquiring about using the PocketDock USB line out with the 5G Classic case that Vaja is working on. Even after providing dimensions of the connector the reply I got was that they couldn't comment on any of the upcoming 5G cases. Bleh.

Anyone have an ETA on the 5G Vaja cases?

Only that it's going to be November :/ Typically it seems to take 3-4 weeks to release an updated case for iPods putting it towards the middle-part of November....

Do most cases leave the wheel exposed? I just bought a 60 gig iPod video and I'm exploring my case options. I've ordered a Speck case, but I'll eventually upgrade to a Vaja. I wondered if the wheel getting scratched up is just a concept I'll have to get used to.

I have the exact same issue.
Most of the time, I don't use the Vaja case because I prefer using the line out via the Pocket Dock.
I'm thinking that Vaja will almost have to go with more access to the bottom port since more accessories will utilize this port for the 5G iPod.

kailess,
One more thing I think I should let you know to help out on your buying options: The i-Volution cases will scratch your iPod to an extent. With the 4, 4G i-Vods that I owned, 2 of them were complimentary\remade from Vaja because of this issue. Now, I am a bit picky and like to keep my things in 100% mint condition. The scratches are very fine but after some time, especially on the white foreground, the scratches become much more apparant. If you are curiuos on how bad, I have some pictures of each case that I sent to Vaja showing the marks. The scratch issue is apparant in all i-Vods but to most people, fine lines and scratches are not that big of an ordeal for the general crowd.
This then brought me to the Classic case which was also generously comp'ed and the Classic of course does not make any marks whatsoever (no ABS plastic). The wheel is also protected when the flip cover is closed but I was a bit worried on the screen (no protector).
I hope this helps out a little; may possibly even sway you a little; I love Vaja to death for many of their leather products I've purchased but sometimes the little spoken-about details may deter my purchasing choices
