What are some good degreasing and cleaning methods to use right before applying one of the various shields on the market?

First thought it isopropyl alcohol, but how would one apply this w/o scratching the front? Does a place sell pre-moistened wipes soft enough for cleaning very delicate and soft plastic materials? Something that is use once and throw away would my worlds better than a tshirt or some other microfiber cloth that might get stuff trapped in it over time.

Would alcohol be the safest thing to use? Would it leave streaks?

I use the Dunlop Finish Cloth and it seems to work wonders. Got it at guitar center for my guitars. I don't use any chemicals or anything I'll probably buy another one soley for my iPods.

I would think you should not apply isopropyl alcohol to your iPod. I just use a microfiber towel and all fingerpints, hand oils, etc come right off. Don't apply too much pressure in case you have fine-grain dirt that might scratch your device.
