I was wondering if the PSP screen protector sold by best buy (The pelican one, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7064874&type=product&id=1108125529524) was any good for the ipod? has anybody ever bought this?

go with the Hori Screen protector for PSP

Yeah, I have a PSP and unfortunately tried the Pelican screen protector. It blurred the screen and left a nasty residue. I second the sugggestion of a Hori protector, or a Martin Fields one.

Does anyone have any photos of the Hori screen protector on an ipod?
Also does it need to be cut at all to fit on a 30 or 60 ipod 5th gen
(i know it needs to be cut to fit the nano)?

Yes, it does need to be cut in order to get it to fit the iPod's screen.

For one Hori ($5) you could probably make 2 screen protectors
or in fact use one for the back of your iPod..
