View Full Version : Looking for a case that FITS RIGHT for 4G 60GB

While looking for a case for my 4G 60GB, I bought the Marware Sportsuit convertible. The fit is a bit too tight because of the 60GB's extra girth. It doesn't warn you about that on the box, but on Marware's website it says "fits 30 GB clickwheels, and fits 60GB snugly". Yeah, so snugly that you can't quite push it in far enough for the front hole in the plastic to line up exactly with the click wheel, and if you try to pull it up tighter with the little top velcro tab, the tab starts to tear, as mine did. I called Marware in Florida, they said I could return it and try another one, but the tab could probably rip again, and that they had no Sportsuit that exactly fit the 60GB (and no current plan to make one...smart waiting on their part, as now they have to make yet another one for the new video-sized screen).
Anyway, any suggestions for one that really fits, and looks and protects as well as the Marware line? (Something neoprene or leather, I'm not big on the rubber jelly models)

I orginally posted in another forum, looking for a 60GB 4G iPod case that truly fits, 'cause my Marware Sportsuit convertible was so tight the top velcro tab started to tear. Another lounger suggested I bring my post here, and when I got here I saw that the question had pretty much been answered.
But I also got a post from a lounger named Jazzy who said "Call Vaja-they'll send you a free case". Does anyone know anything about free cases from Vaja, if it's a special deal or you have to ask for something special to get it (since they are normally $75 and up)?

I think whoever told you that is BS'ing. Vaja makes the most expensive cases and I doubt they'd be giving them for free.

Why don't you ask for further details in the thread this was told to you. I am sure we are taking that comment from Jazzy out of context.

Yo, Jazzy, I moved this thread over to "Cases", as per advice from another lounger, but I'm still wondering what you meant about calling Vaja and they'll send a free case!? So far no one else seems to now about this and at least one person has responded to say you're pulling my leg. Please let me know.

Well, there was no context, it was just a one-line post - "Call vaja--they'll give you one for free." - posted by a guy named Jazzy Mac who has almost 1,000 posts.

The prior posts she was responding to can make the difference.

You can't just pick one post out of thread and post that. It's not fair on the original poster.

Post the link to the thread where this comment was made and then we have a better view on why she said this.

She was just messing with you. You can't get a vaja case for free. Since it was the second post in the thread and no "wink" was given, it is kind of hard to tell she was just screwing with you.

And my original question was just a straightforward "What cases out there really fit a 4G 60GB without tearing, like my Marware did?" And then Jazzy was the first responder and that's all he said, "Call Vaja - they'll send you one for free"

To jwc110869: Actually, I do have a very highly developed sense of both sarcasm (as my wife regularly reminds me) and humor. It's just that I don't post too often, certainly not just to chit-chat or entertain myself, I always come with a specific straightforward question, and so, foolish me, I actually expect a straightforward answer, not some ### trying to lead me on a runaround. I thought that's what was the purpose of these forums, silly me.

To GadgetGuru72: Yeah I get it, there ain't no free lunch, I was stupid to even think Jazzy's answer might be for real. It's just that it came so quick and direct, with no indication of sarcasm, that I thought he/she might actually have a "connection". But it got me to visit Vaja's site, and there's a lot of cool cases there. Prices are pretty steep, but I can afford it, so I'll probably just buy one anyway.

i called up Vaja after posting earlier, and they informed me that they will be having a 50%-off, Winter sale. they also said that Vaja will be selling their "SW facilities, which have amazing ocean views."
