View Full Version : Videora iPod Converter

We've just released our latest free transcoder.
I'd post the URL but it seems like I can't. It's easy enough to find, just go to the Videora homepage.
All those who are familiar with PSP Video 9 will feel right at home. )
We highly urge you to use this program rather than PSP Video 9 for your iPod encodes, it does away with a lot of the PSP MPEG-4 hacks needed to get video working on the PSP plus the PSP's poor file naming scheme.
Please keep in mind that it is still in beta.
Feel free to leave your comments.

Support .IFO and .VOB, and you'll be my hero.

Thanks so much! Very simple and easy layout. If it doesn't support .VOB (Which I have not tried yet) like Blankwire said, it would be nice to add that in a future version.

one question will this produce higher quality videos than the psp video 9 or is it just a faster version for the ipod?

That was my fault. It seems to support AVI, MPEG, WMV, VOB, MOV, TivoToGo, and AviSynth.
But still no IFO.

I always encode with 768 Bitrate. I just found this tonight I've been using PSP video 9 for a long while, this seems like an easiar solution than QT. I'm still deciding to to get a 5G but I'm leaning toward it...

I just converted a 1-hour TV episode (so actually 44 minutes without commercials) to H.264/320x240/768kbps with 128kbps sound and the converted file size came to 267MB. Quality looks EXCELLENT, but we'll wait to see it on the iPod's screen.

does it stretch 16:9 video under 320x240? or simply just add black bar?

It seems to stretch it. I need to do more videos to be sure.

is it possible to make it so it will anamorphic the video automatically?

I'm on mac and use HandBrake for this stuff. I encoded a 16:9 movie at 320x144 to keep it 16:9. In iTunes, it just adds black bars, so hopefully the iPod will too.

320x144 isnt 16:9 tho :(

i think adding more res. might work instead of anamorphic
seems ipod video might have restriction like psp

Well with pspvideo9 I can manage to atleast get a 128 audio bitrate. However with the same settings used in Videora Ipod Converter when I play the file in winamp it says the audio is only 96bitrate.
Any Ideas? Thx for the prog btw!

No, but 320x176 is and there is an option to encode to that.

I'm new to the forums so I apologize if this question has already been asked. The last two avi. files I've coverted with Videora have ended up with a bitrate of 64kbps instead of 128kbps. I select "H264/320x240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps" but somehow the bitrate when the file is finished is 64kbps. Is this what it's supposed to be or am I doing something wrong?

I've tried to convert three files in Videora Converter (two .mpg's and one .vob) and all three have them have come out with no sound. I have only played the files on my computer. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance.

Hello all,
I am new to converting video and all so i have a few questions
I am using the videora converter to convert videos to the correct format but i am having some problems. i am using the suggested SP/320X240/768kbps Stereo/128kbps for encoding but when the video is finnished the encoded video will not play in any media player. I get a video that sha s few still images throughout the time of the video. but i get sound all the way through. i have tried a few different settings but it is still the same. So all i get is sound with a still image. What can i do or what am i doing wrong??? any help would be great! THANKS IN ADVANCE
