UK customers are not important enough to get the free bundled case!

not only do apple charge UK customers more for thier iPods in the first place, we are treated like second class citizens by not getting the case.

probably just an error on the site - it's also missing on the AU and CA store and i can't imagine that they would only include cases for US iPods.

spoken to someone at the apple store who said the "pack-ins" for different territories can differ.

he also gave me the address so i can send a letter of complaint:

Or you can realize that the case Apple supplies is next to useless, and that you should buy a third party case anyway. But you are right, paying more for the same iPod I can get is a slap to the face.

Buy from the US I guess?

The only problem with that is you will FOR SURE be hit with VAT into the UK and that would not be worth the price difference & case.

The new UK iPod was always coming with a case, it has been listed as coming with a case from day one, on the apple store.

that link has expired.

check my link further up from the UK STORE.
it clearly says on tech specs page that included accessories are:

Earbud headphones
USB cable

the case is NOT mentioned!

Guys, lets get our "print screen" buttons ready in case Apple suspiciously update the store websites once people recieve their 5G iPods...

OK, go to the apple store and click the ipod 5G picture as if you were to purchase it. There, clearly under "Whats Included" is:

* • CD with iTunes for Mac and Windows and features guide


Its a mystery as to why its not in the specs page. But the store page is where it counts as everyone has to view this before making the purchase.

If they don't supply (but I feel they will) the cases then we clearly have a case of false representation.

I have picked up the same thing with the Australian site.

When viewing the 5G in the "Store" I get this listed as "in the box":

But outside of the store in the specs it does not mention the case, just Earbud headphones, USB cable.

thanks for others pointing me back to the store page, i didnt actually look at the specs when i ordered... :D so thats why i did not see it there before.

I hate the free case.

It's too tight, I have to pinch my iPod pretty hard to get it to slide out.

The oils off my hands have already started staining the white material.

There is no clip/carry function. It's just a sleeve.

I'll use it as a temporary case until the regular case makers start up production for the video iPod.
