View Full Version : Computer cant Detect Ipod Suddenly

Hey all,
Well was just listening to my ipod and the battery was pretty flat out, so went to attach it with my pc as i usually do and suddenly the computer dont detect the ipod, i have this ipod since March and have had no problems. I got a 20gb ipod
Anyone know how i can get around this as its really bugging me of :(

Any ideas,
Im thinking it could be my usb drivers if i need to update it but how can this be done as i dont know the specifications of my usb drivers?

if nothing has changed on your pc recently then just try resetting (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705) it first.

I tried resetting it but it dont work.
Out of no where its suddenly dont detect my ipod which i find really weird. Maybe i need to update my drivers but how do i do this?
Any other ideas to solve this?

then you may want to try with a different cable and/or different usb port on your computer next. also try out other devices on the same ports - this way you can at least narrow where the problem may be.

I tried the cable at my friends house and it works, the usb port dont seem to work for my new phone either but it works for my mp3 player. I am pretty sure its the drivers but how can i check this out any ideas?

in your control panel there should be some system info option (sorry only use windows at work!) that will allow you to check the properties on your usb ports and see if they are working properly.
