i think my nano's battery is not good, i have the invisible sheild on it, so i do not want to take it for return or anything, anyone know a way to get a better battery life besides replacing it?
will fully drain the battery than charge it over night work?
thanks.

Do a battery test first. If the battery doesn't perform, then the only soloution is to return it...

i just did the battery test, i just got under 9 hours. :( .
do you think i should return it?
i did a real good job putting on the invisible sheild, can i wait for a couple more months when my invisible sheild comes off then return it to the apple store and get a new one?
thanks.

I get about 12 hours of battery life with playing the iPod on shuffle, and skipping around a lot (backlight set on 10 seconds) and with most tracks being 192kbps CBR mp3.

I haven't tried the regular Apple battery test yet because I don't have that many tracks that have that low of a bitrate.

If you're only getting nine hours it sounds like you have a faulty battery. Or it's improperly calibrated.

Try doing a hard reset on your nano (which will wipe out the music on it - so make sure you still have the songs on your computer) and then fully charging it before you use it (overnight - at least 6-8 hours). Then play it continuously until it shuts off on its own and won't turn back on again. Then charge it fully again. Then do the same thing. Play it constantly, use it, listen to it, view photos, whatever you want - you're just trying to get it through a couple complete charge and discharge cycles.

Then charge it fully again and do the battery test. See if that helps.
