False Full on Ipod Mini

Lately when I plug the Ipod into my PC and try to add music it says that it won't synch because I have I don't have enough space remaining. This is not the case I have checked the file sizes against my remaining open space.

Issue two when you synch and look at the bar at the bottom of Itunes where it shows your capacity and how much space you have remaining after that bar there is a little graphic padlock? I have never seen this icon before...

Use the updater and restore the iPod. It will set it to factory settings and this will erase the iPod HD so make sure you have your music on the computer.
