Just got a second ipod, a Nano. I am trying to install the install cd on a second user id on our pc. After I install the Nano Install CD that came with the Nano. I am getting the following error in iTunes "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software." I have tried reinstall the software from the cd several times. I am trying to install a new nano under my son's id on my XP computer. There are 4 users on this computer. On User 1 (me) I have a 40G ipod that syncs fine. Any ideas on how to fix? I have turned off all anti-virus software. Thank you for any ideas, been spending a lot of time and cannot find a solution. The one odd thing is that when I select folders, I see the drive on my pc, but the Nano is empty. ThanksTracy

If you have iPods already installed then all you need to do is connect the Nano and use it. All that is on the disk is the updater w/the iPod drivers & iTunes and you already have both on your computer. You may have to uninstall the software now if it is not reading the iPod. If you have installed another version of iTunes so that you now have more than one then delete one version.

Highlight all songs in the iTunes library &>select clear>select 'keep files'. This will remove the songs from the iTunes library but leave them on the computer in the music folder. Remove iTunes so that you only have one version.

If you have the nano working now then ignore this.
