Ok, so I have been lurking on this forum since before I had an iPod. Yesterday, I got my 60 gb iPod photo. For now I am using a belkin fm transmitter for in car use. However, that is only a temporary sollution. Originally, I planned on using an integrated iPod controller head unit, but after reading about there controls, i decided to go with a basic rca input and use my wonderfully simple iPpod as the control.

So I plan on getting a head unit with aux inputs. Then I will use rca splitters to be able to input my Sirius Sportster and iPod. (I assume as long as only one is on at a time, this will work fine?) The iPod will run through the Sik Imp. the power for both the Sik Imp and the Sportster will come from two additional lighter outlets hidden behind the dash and wired into the ignition, so they will turn off with truck. So, the only thing I have yet to figure out is the wire that goes to the docking port on the iPod.

I want to run a cord under my floor mat, up between my bench seat, so it's neatly tucked away. however the cord on the Sik Imp is too short. Even if I ran long rca's to the Sik Imp, the unit's awkward. What I need is a female to male extension cord that would work with the docking ends, I have searched this forum and googled it and have come up with nothing. So either it doesn't exist, or more likely I just don't know the word for what I am looking for.

Any ideas?

buy a belkin autokit and cut off the cig lighter plug. Then attach power and RCA cables as long as needed. Then, there's only one wire too.

The problem with a dock extender calble is that it's a 30 pin dock connector, about 20-25 of which are seperate things, so it'd have to be a huge cable bundel to acomidate anything someone wated to use it for.
