I am getting ready to upgrade my iTunes software to 5.0. I am running Windows XP. The last time I upgraded to 4.6, it blitzed my library and I had to re-rip everything to my computer. I am not going to go through 400 CD's again. Is there any way to avoid this from happening?
Also, when I have updated in the past, iTunes decides it wants to give me the latest QuickTime software, thus destroying all of my presets for picture viewing and other functions. I have to get my computer to reboot to a previous day, reinstall the software and then it goes away. Is there a way to prevent this from happening as well? When I download the software, I make sure not to make anything my default player to make sure that it does not screw up my settings, but it does anyway.
Please advise!
Thanks
Matt
