Okay, 05 camry xle w/nav trying to get ipod stereo sound

I visited an auto shop 6 weeks ago and I found out thru them and this wonderful site that for the Camry -Pac units that will work with my car and ipod and the stereo speakers. However, the PAC company told the auto place that one of the harnesses is back- order and they still waiting. He quoted me 170 dollars w/install.

Im losing my patience. I learned today that AIC-1001 Vais technology company sells these units and it has more functions, it display text and the songs and through the touch screenyou can control it i.e. forward, pause, etc. Pac units doesnt do that (you can control in thru the steering wheel) but the kicker is the price. It sells for $369 not including installation.

Thus the conflict and pain. Those that have the VAis AIC is it worth the extra $200 or those that have the PAC unit happy even though you cant control it on screen and the songs are not shown.

Please help!

Ok, the plot thickens , I talked to the owner of VAis and he says that his unit ,you could control the playlist from the screen and that PAC doesnt work half of the time. He said most people take it back.


I called PAc and they still waiting for the back order , and of course they said Vais was full of it. They have a good product and been around longer.


A guy started a group buy and the cost of Vais went down to $220 with 50 ppl buying it.

This unit works for Lexus and Toyotas and for ppl that want to see the name of the song and artist on their screen.

I love to hear from some ppl that have either the Pac or AIC 100i Vais units.

PAc got the unit that was back Order , so I will go with them. Money is too tight now, I cant justify spending an extra 200 dollars just to see the name of the song. The ipod will be there if I need to see what's playing.
