Try Limewire if you're using a mac.

Not that I advocate the stealing of music, nosiree.

You can get Neo 0.90, a Kazaa client from http://www.versiontracker.com/macosx/index.shtml. Just do a search for it in the upper right corner of the OS X page.

I've tried Neo, but like Acquisition 0.90, also available at versiontracker, better. Limewire is okay, too.

(search for it in yahoo or whatever you prefer)

Kazaa is for Windows only and there is no Mac port. Neo isn't a Kazaa client, but what it does is searches through IP ranges and trys to find Kazaa hosts and then it indexes the files on that computer and saves it for you to search through. Acquisition and LimeWire are only Gnutella clients.

Ah, but I just searched Google and found a program called MorpheusMac File Grabber (http://www.kazaa-file-sharing-downloads.com/kazaa-for-mac.htm). "MorpheusMac File Grabber searches AND downloads from the Kazaa, Morpheus, Grokster, FTP, Hotline, Napster, Gnutella and now OpenFT networks. It also searches the Carracho network."

mmm, that looks kosher, I'll definately give them the $15.

I have just converted from a PC to a mac and am really missing kazaa. I hope someone comes up with something soon. Can it really be that difficult to write a program for a mac that hooks up to the fastrack network?

Um you probably don't want to be telling people that you use Kazaa. It's not like it's a free, legal program that anybody can use. It will probably be the next app to be taken out. Unless you are using the hacked version, you are being monitored on what you download and share. I would stay away from Kazaa if I were you. It's not a good habit to be in.

Just my thoughts. Steal if you want.

There's lot of info that is leaving your machine that you may not want to share. Have you ever read the license agreement? Anyway you have many other options for filesharing that are less invasive. (plus a few that are Mac only)

I'd like to have kazaa on my mac too, but I have a real issue with having to pay someone to steal music :D I guess I'll just stick to limewire and aquisition for now.

There is also giFT - http://gitf.sourceforge.net -

If you are feeling up to installing fink and running things from Terminal. I haven't been able to get a stable install done as of yet.

For file sharing I use gtk-gnutella. I installed it via fink. I used to use limewire but got suspicious of spyware. I use apple's X11 app for a window manager.

It's interesting how since I switched to acc, no one uploads anything anymore.

Course, with the iTMS there is a lot less of a need for file sharing IMO. It's frustrating to buy an album I already own on tape, but it's soooo much easier than spending a whole evening and ending up with crappy versions.
