I have been thinking about rigging something up for my boat “little winter project”. Basically I am thinking about hooking my iPod directly to a five channel amp I have laying around so I could power four mids / highs and a sub.

Now my question is how would you navigate and tune? I guess being as the iPod is hooked directly to the amp it will act like it does normally so navigating with it should be good. Now what about tuning? That will have to be done directly through the amp I guess and that’s a bit risky….

Anyhow I am just brainstorming some ideas…

OMG where are you? so I don't get near yr neck of woods, as if I don't already get thumbed to dead on the road.

Tune? I didn't know the POD has a radio.

Tune the components spkrs I assume... with a crossover network of course.

Navigate? With one of them Alpine$ head, or just get a Belkin TuneStage bluetooth beamer.

HAHA - well its for my boat so I am not going to be fooling with it in bumper to bumper traffic on the I5 or anything. Its going to more like a pick a play list and leave it alone while I am mobbing around or hanging out in the cabin. When I said tuning I meant - treble, bass, fade, ect and I guess that can be done with the amp.

I found this little drawing while researching - that is basically how its put together.
