I bought a P.I.E. aux input converter which essentially connects into the back of my stock cd changer in the dash of my car. The converter provides a set of RCA inputs so you can hook up some auxillary equipement, such as an ipod or satellite radio.

I plan to connect my ipod to the RCA input and much prefer to use the dock for the feed rather than the headphone jack to ensure highest quality. I have a stereolink cable from nyko for this purpose and it has worked well in home use.

My question is whether there are any other companies that make an RCA to dock connector cable that may be of higher quality. It does not appear that Monster cable makes one. Is it possible to find one that also charges the ipod? I'm guessing not since it's through an RCA input, but you never know. Another reason I wanted to know if other companies make them is choice of color of the cable, to try to be less intrusive in the car.

any help is appreciated. You can see a review/comment of the nyko stereolink if you do a search on ipod lounge for 'stereolink'.

The Monster low profile charger (which appears to be black in colour) provides a line out to which you could connect a (black) 3.5mm to twin RCA cable

The monster low profile works great. Only downside is the dock connector is thick and will interfere with any case that covers the bottom of the iPod.
