this icondom looks like the perfect solution for my nano, im not worried about dropping it so i dont need some thick silcone case (i.e. iskin) and it would also make it bulky and take away from its natural beauty. im only worried about tiny scratches picked up from every day use. they seem affordable enough and i was just hoping for some user opinions, does it provide full coverage all around? what are some, if any, of the negatives? thanks.

I've had the iCondoms on my iPod for almost 2 years and are very happy with them. I use them with a case, but its nice knowing it doesn't always have to be in one.
The set I have covers the screen, and the flat part of the back. It doesn't wrap around the curved part of the metal.

Thanks for the recommendation! I might go with this.
Why are there so many pieces? EIGHT High Static Cling Screen Protectors? Does that mean that they'll come off quickly or something? I'm looking for a product that I can just buy once and never have to worry about protecting my Nano with a case ever again. Any recommendations?

They are basically screen protectors for PDA's. They do need changing from time to time........

Yes but Static PDA Screen Protectors are not iCondoms! These are some exampels of Nano Condoms!
As I think you can see they protect more then just the Screen, and it's ribbed for her....

Why would'n it be? It's a Speck Toughskin on a Grey iPod Mini. It's shown here only as an example of what an iCondom could look like...

what the difference between low tack adhensive and high static cling?
sorry if its a stupid question.

Without being too redundant. Low tack adhesive is glue, but not strong glue. With that said leaving on too long, let say a year, the glue hardens and becomes difficult to remove, leaving a film behind. High static cling is friction, plain and simple...........

so high static cling is better on my nano if im not planning to apply new cover before a year is up?

I think so, but usually both are included, depending on the auction............

i think static cling is better regardless.

yeah thats what i thought.how does the static cling work?
do you need water and soap in oder for it to stick or jus purely placing it on the nano withot anything used?

i don't know how it works...i don't really know if it's the same thing as static electricity. to me, i always thought of it as more of a vacuum effect, rather than eletric charge.
get both surfaces as clean as possible, apply, then push out the air bubbles.

no need for water and soap like other skins?

i don't know why you would need it. i see water and soap being used when an adhesive is present (ever regripped golf clubs?)

I think the iCondom is the work of a very creative ebayer, and thats it...............

does the icondom have a textured feel like the ones from decalgirls?

No, quite smooth. Thats why I like them, eventhough I have a Vaja case........
Texture would make it difficult to slide in and out.

Does the iCondom cover the whole front of the Nano, or just the back, wheel, and screen?
The reason I ask is that I've been to the eBay web site, and read through the description, and I wasn't clear on if the plastic front of the Nano was covered. It's up to 15 pieces now, back is listed, but the picture seems to show just the screen. Says both cling and low tack variants are included.
It's really hard to tell, without a review or something, how good iCondom is. On PDAs, the first generation screen protectors were kind of a rubbery vinyl, which was the devil to put on without bubbles, and they did not last long so there was generally a lot of pieces in a package. Given how tricky they were to put on, and having to do it monthly, was a real pain. The newer stuff, PET based, from Brando, NuShield, etc., is much, much better. Better protection, lasts longer, does not scratch easily, etc. But the Nano is so new, the newer material guys are not all out yet. I have seen ads for them from Brando, Martin Fields, Exim. Not clear if any of them covers the sides.

My iCondom was only used to cover the back and the screen. They gave two types of the iCondoms. I think on one side I used the sticky one and the other side I used the static (but I don't remember). I haven't changed either since I first used it and I have cleaned it and removed the iPod from its vaja case and everthing. I don't have the iPod on hand right now, but I think I didn't like the way the screen was just a teeny bit blurry. I still saw everything though and I got used ot it. I have used the extras for other electronic gadgets (digital cam, etc.) and if someone wanted to borrow some. From what I see on the internet, Martin Fields may be better, but I had no problem with the iCondom. To be honest, decalgirl and is just a $12 waste of money considering all the other pieces out there. I'm only using it temporarily for my nano. I didn't want to get the iCondom only because it didn't cover the entire iPod.

The front was screen only, back when I purchased them. And the back covered the entire flat part of the back. But I don't see why you couldn't use a back for the front, at least the low tack adhesive kind.
And yes, you have to worry about bubbles........
