I've been looking at the Alpine CDA-9855 with the iPod adapter, but with other expenses right now I have to hold off for a bit.

If I had to do the FM transmitter thing (gaaak) what do people recommend? I realize it won't be as good as a direct input. TIA.

I still love the NewerTech Roadtrip!+ 87.9 transmitter.
- cheap as all get-out
- totally plug'n'play, no station-seeking required
- actually works in Los Angeles

It still routinely wows my friends who had given up on FM transmitters in the LA market.
