ipod song update with file sharing on OS9

Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. I use OS9 with itunes 2.04, and I'm on an appletalk network. I can update the tunes on my ipod fine thru itunes when file sharing is off but when it's on I get the following message: 'Attempting to copy to the disk "" failed: because you do not have enough access privileges'. I've tried playing around with the sharing privileges of the ipod when it's mounted on the desktop but that doesn't help. I can also copy to it when it's on the desktop fine.
This isn't a major problem, just means I have to disconnect people from my shared drives occasionally (so more their problem than mine)

Is your entire compueter shared, or just specific folders? I've used file sharing and OS 9.2 with no problems, but I've never had my entire computer open to be shared, only certain folders.

I usually just have two document folders shared, with users having read only access to them, but I've tried having nothing shared but having file sharing on and still have the problem.
I'm gonna try unplugging everything and starting up with just a few extensions but I doubt it'll do much.
note: I'm on a g3 350, os 9.2.2, ipod software 1.3
