How can I install linux on my mini on a Windows PC and then revert to using my Mac to manage my songs and charge my iPod without having to erase all of my iPod's settings, songs, Linux using the iPod Updater?!?!
Keep in mind, I am not asking how to install Linux. I already have an installer.

Imposible, because when you plug in your ipod into a different operating system, it assumes that it's new, and formats it to the operating system

Seriously? Ugh.....
Um no it doesn't! A Windows formatted iPod will work just dandy on a Mac, just plug it in and it will show up in iTunes like normal. However a Mac formatted iPod won't work on a Windows PC without 3rd party software.

Hmmm.... then that could be a problem... Tom, do you know where I can download that software?
EDIT: Can I format my iPod to be a Windows iPod, install Linux, and then use my iPod on my mac without having to reformat it? Does the software problem arise when going from Mac-->Windows only?

I formatted my mini on my PC at work and it still works just dandy on my mac at home... I had originally formatted it on my mac at home but then it wouldn't work on my PC at work. But since I re-formatted it at work, it works dandy on my mac and pc. Just my $0.02

I've decided that I'm going to reformat my iPod so that it works with Windows and Mac. Sadly, that means clearing out all of my songs and later reloading them all on my iPod. That takes a good 20-30 minutes or so. :(
