UPDATE:
CHECK THE NEXT POST FOR A LINK TO THE PRODUCT'S WEBSITE !
I found this company while browsing in the japaneese ipodlounge website (which is a great one BTW).
They produce a clear protection film customized for the iPod Nano.
It seems to protect every part of the iPod (back, front, screen, click wheel).

Until I get this URLs issue:
go to:
micro-solution.com
on the left there is a navigation bar - find the "apple macintosh family" category, and click on "ipod series".
click on "ipod nano ..."
browse the product list and click on "ipod nano film kit #4"
It looks like a great solution, but the only problem is that they declare on the website that they don't do international order for individuals. I emailed them anyways, but stil haven't been replied.
Will keep you posted...

this looks good but what is the material they use? vinyl or something?
i tried to use babelfish to translate it but couldn't get that info
and whats with the 3 types of film? are you supposed to use all three at once, layering each on top of each other? or just different options?
it doesn't seem like it covers the sides either
and i guess it does cover the screen

I used google to translate, I think it works a little better.
The product contains 3 different parts:
2 x films for the back of the ipod (one spare)
1 x film for the front of the ipod (cutted around the click wheel but covers the screen)
2 x sets of films for click wheel (each set conatins a ring type film for the area around the center button + a circular film for the center button itself).
If you click on each of the photos you get detailed instructions for each of the installation steps.
I didn't find any reference concernning the type of materials, and I think you're right about the sides of the ipod being exposed.

thanks for the clarification
i would, however, like to know what material they use
i've found so many different options for clear skins that i'm not sure what to go with
ideally, i'd like to find a clear skin that uses cast vinyl, as i've heard thats stronger
but haven't been able to find that
and also one that covers sides as well

I know what you mean, I'm going through the same thing, so I've just bought them all - LOL...
Seriously, if it's a strong vinyl you're looking for I would guess that nothing beats the ones from theinvisibleshield.com
(watch the video on the website - it doesn't get any stronger than that...)
I've just purchased a pair but I don't have them yet.
I also purchased some generic ones (so it seems) from ebay.
(check the "I found a new Nano skin called a StickiT" thread in the forum's nano cases category - there is a post with a link to an ebay listing)
they look OK, nothing fancy - but again I don't have them yet so I can't really say for sure.
I'm also waiting for a response from the Japanese website. if they agree to take my order I will place one there too.
Anyways,
please let me know what you went for and how it turned out,
I'll post my reviews once I get the skins.
Good luck...

so this is the invisible shield.. i saw someone post something similar but forgot to include the word "the" in front of "invisibleshield.com" in the url
looks pretty amazing
although the video did impress me at first (mostly the key test), i noticed that almost all of the "keying" was done on the generic brand half.. but in any case, i'm sure it's pretty damn durable. i hope it promises to be as incredible as it looks, this seems to be the best skin i've seen so far but $20 is pretty expensive.
just wondering but why did you order the generic ones from ebay if you already ordered the invislble shield? (unless you bought it before you knew about the invisible shield)

You guessed it, I did buy the generic ones first...
But being in ISRAEL, it's not too bad to have little "stocks" of things you like. Sometimes it might take a while 'til you find an online dealer that takes international orders...
Anyway I agree, it IS pretty expensive for a piece of vinyl (strong as it would be). The japanese BTW are about $10.

i wonder if the japanese ones are as durable.. probably not?
the more i think about it.. the better the value is for the invisible shield..
you get the strongest skin out there (presumably), a lifetime guarantee.. and it completely wraps all around the nano (i think). that being said, i guess it would probably leave the bottom side exposed for the ports
i'm definitely leaning toward the invisible shield now.. although, their site is not loading for me anymore currently
i'll let you know what i decide on
and yes, i'd love to hear some reviews :)

That japanese one looks sweet. I just want something lightweight to guard against the swirl marks the nanos get. The invisible shield looks like it really dulls down the ipods finish compared to the japanese one.
