Hello everyone. I just got my Kensington FM transmitter but when I tune it to a frequency and match it up on my radio, all I hear is silence. I made sure my antenna is up, but for some reason I don't hear anything. I put my volume almost all the way up on my radio and it's all the way up on my iPod as well. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions or recommendations?
Thanks,

anyone? I've tried it on 3 different cars and all I hear is silence. Is there something I'm doing wrong. Is there a setting or something that I have to change on iPod in order for it to work? please help

I have the same one and there is nothing special to do after setting frequencies on the adapter and the radio. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to play through the radio but a simple replugging of the adapter does the trick. It sounds like you may have a defective one. When plugged in, does the adapter lights (red and green I think) light up?

Yea, it lights up blue so I know it's on. I'm thinking that it is defective because I know it's not this hard to set up a transmitter. Thanks for your response. Any other suggestions out there?

Have you tried your ipod on a dock, or with any other dock connected fm transmitter. Its either the ipod dock connector, or the fm transmitter cord. Since you only hear silence the transmitter is working so some degree. If it wasn't transmitting you would hear static.
If the dock connector line out is working then it's the cable from the transmitter that is faulty.

No I haven't tried any other dock connecting FM transmitter as this is my first one. I read many good reviews about it which is why I got it. I believe it came with a 5 year warranty so I guess I can just get a new one, but it's going to be a hassle to send it back because I ordered it online. Did anyone buy a Kensington in a store? If so, where? Thanks for your response.

I purchased mine from CompUSA several months ago. Given your comments about raising the volume on the iPod to the max, I think I have a different version of the transmitter. The one I have only connects to the dock port on the iPod and on one side it has one button for either an 88 or 107 frequency and the other button to 1,3,5, or 7 under the 88 or 107 block. I can't post links yet, but if you search for "kensington fm ipod" in google, the first hit will show a picture of what I have. Hope this helps
