I mentioned my setup a few days ago, but I thought I would start a new topic and include pictures. Coach makes a miniature wallet/keyholder/business card holder called the "Mini Skinny," ranging anywhere from $38 to $48 (cheaper on Ebay) in a variety of fabrics and leathers. It fits a nano perfectly, in my opinion. Thick fabric plus zipper provides excellent protection comparable to many skins and cases available.
You get protection of the entire nano, even the screen and wheel. You can tuck the Mini skinny into your pocket while keeping your nano protected. The earphones stick out of the end of the zipper. When not in use, you can tuck your earphones either inside the Mini or in the outside business card pocket (especially if you don't want scratches.
Best of all, you can take out your nano and show it off in its full naked glory! No skin needed.
Thanks for looking. I am just in love with my nano, and I'm glad that my Coach mini skinny protects it so well while being so versatile (hook some keys on the keyring!).

pps - Try a spring clasp on the keyring. You can attach the mini+nano to the belt loop on your jeans. :) The Mini+nano will still be oriented so the earphones stick up toward your head.
