Not sure if this has been posted, but seen many questions about this.
Basically you can create a smart playlist and title it "shuffle source" or something like that. Have this smart list take songs from your favorite playlists that include all the songs you want on your shuffle. ie have a playlist called "shuffle music". Then create a smartplaylists that grabs all of your podcasts. I call this "Podcasts". Now you want to take "shuffle source" and set it to match from both the "Podcasts" playlist and "shuffle music" playlist.
Now the downside is that everyday you have to delete all the songs from your shuffle and then drag all the songs/podcasts from the "shuffle source" into the shuffle.
There may be something I am totally missing so PLEASE correct me or give any advice to make it more user friendly.
