So I went to my school audiologist today and they had some undergraduates at work. I went for a hearing test to check out my hearing. The result was pretty positive. I'm at 5 db at 250hz -8khz and 0db at 2khz, for some reason i can hear 2khz real well. Well, since I was there, I asked them to check the UE5c SPL (Sound Pressure Level). For some of you do not know why SPL is so important, it's basically a number given to the amount of pressure apply to the ears. Anything below 85 SPL is good listening level. If you listen to music for more than 3 hours continuously, you want to listen below 85 SPL. Well how the heck do you know what level you're listening to? Basically they have this machinne w/ a small tube, they put that in my ears along w/ my UE5cs, then I would turn up the volume.
For the iPod with the UE5c an average of 85 SPL is @ half the volume bar. If you plan to listen to music for a long time, make sure you do not pass the half way mark on the volume level! Hope that helps you UE5c users out there. It's different for all phones, so if you're concern about volume, go to your audiologist and check it out.
