i just got a color ipod 20 gb. my other computer is not working properly so i have to use it with my laptop which is windows 98. i have seen that you have to install it on a xp or 2000 first then you can use it on 98 or me but i was wondering if there is anyway to just use it on my 98 without installing it on a xp first? thanks a lot

I'd suggest not installing it on Windows 98. The main thing that comes to mind is compatibilty issues...

The iPod will work on Win 98. You have o get a patch. Search around these forums for the link.
iTunes will NOT work on 98 or me.
So you'l have to use a lower grade product like MusicMatch.
You'll also lose some functionality on the iPod.
Maybe time for XP?
