Hey guys! I just finished transferring my WHOLE CD collection to my new iPod 60gb Color, but during the time I was importing all the cd's and what few mp3's I had on my hard drive, iTunes never showed any album artwork. Therefore, there is no album artwork shown as a album or song plays on my iPod. Is there a way to add the album artwork after the albums have been transferred? And yes, I did have the "Show album artwork on iPod" box checked in my iTunes settings. Also, how would I change my name on the iPod? (Ex : Joe Shmoes' iPod) I apologize if these are stupid questions, but I owed a Dell Jukebox before this! :( Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome. 1-In iTunes, open the artwork window in the lower left (last icon) and highlight the song(s) or album you want to add the artwork too. Then you can either go to a site (amazon.com or cduniverse.com) to get the artwork and add it manually or use software (iTunes Art Importer - http://www.yvg.com/itunesartimporter.shtml) -free or
(iArt - http://www.ipodsoft.com) - shareware.
2-To change the iPod name (a) click on the iPod icon in the source list while connect in itunes and the space will open for you to type in a new name. (b) Go to my computer & right click on the iPod icon while connected & select 'rename' and you will be able to type in the name of your choice.

you pretty much have to add each one individually. what i do/did was select the entire cd with shift+click and then drag and drop the picture you want for the album cover onto the box on the lower left. i use amazon for most pictures, and if its not there, just yahoo and search for images.
the other way involves a seperate program, but i dont know much about that. i have a pc right now, and i think most of the album art apps are for mac. please correct me if im wrong!

Thanx! A few more questions if you don't mind. Can I only use iTunes Art Importer with songs that are in my iTunes library or can they be applyed to the albums already on my iPod (i hope)? If not, is there a way transfer what's on my iPod back to the iTunes library? I would hate to have to re-import all of the 200 + albums again. I deleted the albums in my library once they were all transfered to the iPod to free up the 40 + gigs on my hard drive. Also, is not iTunes supposed to automatically find the artwork through Gracenote when playing or importing the songs? My iTunes 4.7 just shows a blank window that says "Artwork Can Not Be Modified". Thanx again!

The 'artwork cannot be modified' thing comes up with it's not Mp3. I got that with some of my music . . . it can be played, just not 'fiddled with' . .. so. Check the format.
Good luck!

Honeybee, I love you!!! The iTunes Art Importer was an absolute Godsend. I was able to import all of my CD's album art directly to my iPod! Thank you so much to everyone for your help.
