View Full Version : Because ilounge sucks, I am posting my comment on the armband review here

After trying for several fustrating minutes to post my comment on ilounges armband review, I will post it here. I could not post my comment in the appropriate place because it would say I was not logged in, then when I would try to log in, it would say that my username is not in the ilounge database. With the addition of the horrible slowness of the ilounge, I gave up and decided to post here so my efforts are not in vain.

Mods: Please put this comment in armband review.

For context, part of the review:
Pros: A quality iPod nano armband that holds the nano comfortably on your arm; perforated neoprene traps less heat and moisture than earlier iPod armbands. More protection than earlier Apple armbands, including thin plastic Click Wheel guard.

Cons: Significant parts of iPod nano are left exposed, including top third and bottom sides. Not the best design for people who want to view nano’s screen upside down. Simple headphone port hole is on small side. Color options don’t include neutral black, and skew bright.

My Comment:

"Not the best design for people who want to view nano’s screen upside down"

I don't think this is a con for me, but I guess I am not the SLOW FUSTRATING ILOUNGE.

found a typo!

The mods aren't here to circumvent the system for you. Also, it's a bit spiteful to criticize iLounge for slowing down when a high-profile review swamps them with traffic.

Besides, why not just start up a thread in the forums if you want to talk about the armband, when you can't login to the comments system? People will still notice it, and you'll hopefully engender some debate.

IIRC, the user database for reviews and for the forums are separate...

Sorry for the inconvenience. We have an increase in traffic at the site and it has been slow for all of us but the problem is being worked on. We will all have to be a little patient until it's resolved since we are all effected by the slowness. Hopefully, this will be cleared up very soon.

You are quite correct ham_man - they are separate.

bronze09,
If you were trying to add a comment to this review (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/comments/apple-computer-ipod-nano-armband-ipod/) then you will have to register here (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/member/register/) to do so.
That is why you were being told your username was not recognised.......

As has been explained the site is getting huge volumes of traffic with the release of the iPod nano and the slowness is affecting everyone, including me.

I was a little fustrated, thanks for the helpful replies. But, wouldn't it be a good idea to let forum users post replies to reviews with their same name/login?

Yes. That is a good idea and it one we've had. Its being worked on but we're dealing with two very large, very different sets of data in two different systems.
