3d party firewire cord OK?

Is it safe to connect the (second generation Windows) iPod to your computer through a third party firewire cord, as opposed to the one included?

I can't see why it wouldn't be, but I seem to recall having read something like this.

No probs that I'm aware of. I used a Belkin one with my v2 with no issues.
