I got these today and i LOVE them, they are so comfortable and sound great (actually a LITTLE too high for me but some bass booster helps) but when i listen to music i hear a buzzing sound and some static (its faint but its there). I think this is because all my music is (by accident) encoded at 128 kps. Will encoding it at say 192 help or is it another problem altogether?

What you're describing doesn't sound like an encoding issue to me ... sounds more like a bad electrical connection. Do you hear this with the Apple ear buds?

So go ahead and re-encode the same material (u kept the original didn't u?) to 192 and see what happends. It's faster than asking here. Why are people afraid of trying out things? Be bold, go ahead, nothing will blow up.

heh stupid me. the bass booster was doing that. sooner or later i will re-encode it anyway.

Since you're only using 3gb, why don't you go higher? You could probably manage 256 or even 320 on your iPod and still have lots of space.
