My serial number is not being recognized via register.apple.com - is anyone else able to register theirs successfully?
Same thing happened to me.

It didn't recognize my serial number either. Had to use the part number. It seems that Apple didn't update their serial database yet as this same thing has been happening to a lot of people trying to register their Nanos.

Mine worked fine, but I have to say I had a seriously hard time readin the SN. Even on the box, it was too stinking small. My only problem came when I used an o for a 0. Old habit I picked up in typing class looooong time ago (pre-pc).

Mine worked fine. Are you sure it's the right number? I found mine on the bottom of the box.

Well, mine didn't work, and I verified it in 3 different places: Back of iPod, on box, and in Settings-About in the iPod itself.

I was unable to register my nano with just the serial number , i needed the part number also. However when I putt in my serial number on the support page in the part " About my Apple product" it recognized the serial number and stated that the nano was purchased 8-25-05 and I had 348 days left on my warranty.
Let us know if anyone else has this happen to them
Rob.

Yeah, I had posted about this a couple of days ago. My black one registered, but my white one didn't. I had to use the part number, but I still can't register my AppleCare for that one. Haven't had time to call Apple about it yet.

Yeah, I did it. It's actually a good idea and it gives customer support or tech support something to reference if you ever have questions or problems, or if they need to notify you about something.
