I have the 20gb ipod, and i just got a 12" powerbook, my ipod is windows formatted, so i can't update the software... I want to get the songs off the ipod to the powerbook. I installed the applescript from dougs website, and get the applescript icon on my itunes menu bar, but when i click on it "Ipod to Itunes playlist X", i get an error message that reads ""To run this script, you must have the "Copy Files to itunes music folder' preference turned off."" and dragging songs from my ipod won't work. Any help would be appreciated as I am a new apple user. Thanks

hi,

the preference option mentioned in the dialog is found on the advance tab of the iTunes pref panel which is accessible from the iTunes menu bar. clicking on the option will disable it.
