View Full Version : My Dream Nano Case

For my black 4GB, which is supposed to scratch easily, my dream case would be completely clear not just semi-transparent and be very thin so as not to add too much thickness to the nano's slim form. This case would protect from scratches with only the most minimal changes to the aesthetics or form of the nano. What do you guys think? What are some other case ideas?

i wonder if someone makes heatshrink large enough to fit around the Nano....hmmm....

hm, i might've just made your dream case. transparent, thin, no sensitivity lost on the wheel. quick, i need to file a patent.

yeah, something like that sounds good. Maybe use a clear plastic and it'd look sorta like a jewel case?

All I want is a belt clip like the one for the mini. I think the minimal aesthetic of a black belt clip would perfectly compliment my black nano. <COUGH COUGH>

Another vote here for the minimalist belt clip. Like the one that came with the mini (cough cough COUGH)

Another cough for just a belt clip. My perfect case would be a vinyl skin that protects most of the Nano and a belt clip that would just attach to the Nano with the vinyl skin. This would add no extra bulk and have a belt clip. I'd also like it in the horizontal position in the clip (like the ExtremeMac one does for the Shuffle - http://www.xtrememac.com/ipodgear/superclip_shuffle.shtml).

Not perfect, but it would lead you to believe that it is very thin and entirely clear....

what exactly is making it "not perfect?"

Well it isnt really a case..... it is simply a pod protector. Though i guess that is what the OP is actually after

I just ordered one inspite of having a decalgirl cover on the way..... if what i read about decalgirl case is correct, the sides would remain exposed so I figure I could put on the clear protector as a 'base' and if i fancied, add a cover after!
Plus i also reckon that any spare nano cases you end up with would sell like hot cakes on ebay due to their almost total unavailability!

The exact same thing happened to me. I have an order from decal girl on the way and I just placed an order for the invisible shield. The demo video of them trying to scratch the iPod with the keys sold me. I guess more because they had the ##### to do that to a 300 dollar device then the fact that it worked.

I just was looking at the invisibleshield site again and now they've got pics of the nano with a shield on it... you pretty much can't tell it's there at all. I've had one of these on my mini and unless you know what to look for you can't tell it's there.
Anyway, check out the site for pics of the nano covered in it. its theinvisibleshield.com then follow the directions to nano and click on the picture.

I was about to order one until I realized that it is a water based application. I am going to wait for the product from trendygeek.com. Theirs uses static to adhere to the iPod.

I was looking for something thinner then the invisible shield as it looks like in photos it dulls down the nano quite a bit and I don't care about the extra strength or cost it has. When somebody gets an invisbleshield be sure to post pictures as maybe they are just at a bad angle.
this is still my favorite clear plastic nano cover.

While it's true that the invisibleshield uses water to apply it , it's a minimal amount. Like I was saying, I have this on my iPod mini, and it hasn't been any trouble at all. I used a spray bottle to wet down the sticky side... didn't spray anything on the iPod directly. My iPod suffered absolutely no damage at all. I love that product!
