...or does it only support autosync, like the Shuffle?

I have the shuffle, and I can manually add what songs I want... I think all iPod's have the ability to manually update songs on it.
If that's not what you mean, then I'm not following.
Yes the nano is like the previous full size iPods and minis, and supports all the modes they do.
You can also manually add songs to shuffles, just drag and drop.

Ok, let me rephrase the question. Upon connecting the Shuffle to a computer, the songs that are on the Shuffle but are not on the computer are erased from the Shuffle. There is no way to stop this from happening.
Does this happen with the nano?

Right the shuffle doesn't have a true "manual mode" it seems.
The Nano "should", but until someone with an actual nano does a test, changing it to manual mode, we won't know for sure, but it sounds like it will behave like it's other iPod cusins.

I know exactly what the OP means, but the choice of words is confusing. I guess the clearer way would be "Can the nano be docked/mated with more than 1 computer?"
The Shuffle can do manual or auto updates, but it can only do it with 1 computer.
