I don't think it will completely replace mini's or their accessories.

It costs alot for the only 1gb version ( sure it'll be upgraded within 6 months ) but still the dang thing is too small

I would have a great fear of this thing just snapping in half.

Well its 2GB anyway (for 199.99)
And I also think its too small. I just wouldn't feel comfortable with something like that in my hands, and I would be very scared of snapping it in half because it is so thin.

to each his own. but i think that it's perfect. i thought that the shuffle was a waste of money, so i've been waiting for a flash player with screen forever.

Too small? That's funny. Do you have a cell phone? I guess you should trade in your newer smallish one for one of these bad boys then:

Personally, the smaller the better. Especially for working out. I love the Shuffle because it's so small. But I'd love the screen, so I will be getting one of these as soon as possible.

I guess you're not a fan of the MobiBlu mp3 player either then?

Edit: Why doesn't the image tag work?

I agree that it is too small for my taste. Now my wife who is a Shuffle owner is going to love it. I am going to score many brownie points by getting it for her thus showing that I am a husband that truly understands. :D

But for me I need the larger screen.

I agree. But unfortunately, I can't defend changing my 4G B&W, for one of theese just yet. I'll wait for the 16GB version of the iPod nano.. and it will come.

bottom line for me.... i dont like the nano... i love my mini! and yeah its way to small... i have problems locatining my mini, i think if it wernt for the color... then i dont know what id do! and i think nano is BORING no color exept the screen.... and thw worse part is.... 4 GB is the price of what a 6 GB mini used to cost and the 2GB nano is the price of what the mini 4GB used to cost, they reduced it by 2 GB and still want the same price, thats not cool!! im not getting a nano... but everyone for thier own!

btw germany dosnt have the nano on the market yet, at least not amazon.de

Well, I think it is small but I don't think it is too small. The same discussion was started when the first iPod mini's were released and when the first of the thin flip cell phones came out. I personally like the way the nano looks, this is an iPod that would be good with a lanyard just like the shuffle is.

I don't think the nano will every replace the mini as the mini was the first iPod to use the click wheel that we all like and have a small profile. I do think that making the nano all flash based memory is a big pluss as it is a true skipless iPod. Although, if you skip your hard drive driven iPod, you broke it. I do think the nano will take off like a wild fire, just as all newly released iPods do. It will take some time but the nano will become a part of the iPod family.

the demensions just arn't right. It's not that it's too small I guess just too thin. I would really be way to self cautious about snapping it in half since it maintains the width/height of a normal ipod almost but less width than a mini.

its not gonna snap in half. engineers at apple made sure that it won't happen and that its made for everyday usage and spoliage. and besides, i like it thin like that. for all the guys out there, wasn't it a pain to get an ipod into your pockets? girls have their purses to carry around so no matter what ipod it is, they can put it in their purse. but guys don't carry purses, well most of them anyways, so its a nice fact that its so thin.

It already has replaced the mini, completely. The mini is no longer being produced.

And if you don't like it then fine, go buy another player. This thing will sell by the millions come Christmas time.

To thin? That is interesting considering how many people cried foal at the iPod Photo (color) initial release because it became thicker than the original 3G/4G iPods.

Thin is what the majority of people want. It may be thin, but I doubt this this will snap in half easily. I suppose I could be wrong.

I saw them today and I kind of agree with the person who said it is too thin. It just felt sooo fragile in my hand. People who tend to be a bit rough with their gadgets might have a problem...like my husband.

It is very nice though. I really only need 4GB in my iPod, but I can't decide if I will get this or not. I'll wait it out a bit I guess. My pink mini recently died and I need a replacement.
