If its asking for your zip code and state it should be kinda obvious what the problem is.... you're trying to order from the US site. Go to www.apple.com/uk for the UK site and then into the store from there.

Did you go to the UK store website?

Are there any hard clear cases available for the nano yet? if not, how will you guys protect it? The Apple nano tube looks really ugly.

Do they have them at Regent St yet?

bav
09-08-2005, 06:56 AM
dunno.. the apple store says a wait of 3 days,, so it's gonna be about 2 weeks before mine arrives into my hands :(

by that time, apple could of announced a whole host of nanoo's ;)

as for protecting it, well.. why would i want to cover the sexy black look? ;)

betty02
09-08-2005, 07:04 AM
yeah why would you want to cover the sleekness up? To protect it it simple, look after it. Yep mine will be ordered taody if my mum lends me the money lmao, as my mini is on e-bay :O but its worth ti (iHope iThink)

You just cant though..... well not unless you are seriously pedantic! I am careful with my portable devices, i dont drop them or chuck them about, but something as simple as accidentally putting your keys into the same pocket as my mobile phone can end up with scratches.... I'll most certainly be getting a protector of some sort.

A clear plastic hard case like the otto box, icebox or agent 18 clicksheild should protect the nano and not cover up its sleekness.

Me too! Nice surprise to have that in my inbox this morning - I had got use to the idea I wouldn't have it until mid next week judging by the old dispatch date. Did you notice the time on the email too? around 1.30am this morning, so surely it shipped yesterday - meaning that it could well be here today!! Woohoo!

I have seen that other folks have nipped to their local Apple store and picked one up - if it doesn't arrive today I'll wish I had! Can't wait!!!!

bav
09-09-2005, 05:46 AM
when you go to your order status page, can you see any tracking information?
I can't see anything apart from "shipped" and when you click that, it just links to the meaning of the status.

I guess the package ain't been scanned yet..

Yeah, it was about 1:30am.. I was up at 2am so I got my surprise earlier than you ;) hehe..

But I'd like to know if it will arrive today so I can be home when it comes, as it will require a signature. Don't want it going back to the Post Office or anything..

Piarco75
09-09-2005, 06:57 AM
Thats definately the case with the Apple computers, but in my experience, the iPods always seem to ship for the UK. I ordered a 6GB Mini when they were announced, and got it the next day (may have been the day after - either way it was delivered within 2 days).

And just to add credance to that, the shipping time was originally 3-9 days, now it says delivery within 1-2 days :)

bav
09-09-2005, 07:09 AM
when i ordered my 3g 20gb a few years back, that came from far east, and also the 6gb mini (back in march) also came from far east! weird..

oh well.. i doubt we'll get our nano's 2day.. more likely monday *sigh*

Piarco75
09-09-2005, 07:13 AM
I'm still hopeful - we haven't had out post here yet! Doesn't come until well after 11.30 (I don't like this one post a day nonsense) admittedly though, parcels usually get dropped off by a Royal Mail van. Then again, the nano box will be tiny...... I live in hope!

bav
09-09-2005, 07:16 AM
yeah, but if it were coming out 2day, then surely it would of been scanned by now and you would be able to see the tracking on the order status page..

i just called up apple and they confirmed that it hadn't been scanned yet.. so whether it's been shipped and not scanned, who knows!!

i hope it comes today!

hey guess what? MY NANO is at my house.. well.. the courier just rang me up, but cos i'm not at home, i can't sign for it!!!!!!!!!

i asked him to get signature off a neighbour and just pop it thru the letter box.. he said he would ring the depo to see if this is ok..

i hope it is!! i can be home in 10 mins if he waited.. ! lol..

I WANT MY NANO!!

Piarco75

bav
09-09-2005, 07:45 AM
majoy BUMMER.. he asid that I must sign for it.. not the neighbour..
I could hear my neighbour saying that she'll sign and keep the package till I get home..

Now the dept is 2 junctions away on the M1!!

But he did say if I rang up the depo someone can be out first thing tomorrow morning to re-deliver! He assured me that would be the case..

GRRR.. He wouldn't even wait till for me.. we talked on the fone for about 10 mins.. in that time I would of been home.. but he was quite stubborn!! damn..

Oh well.. will post back tomorrow if/when it finally arrives into my hands!

Hope you get yours then Piarco75 :)

Bad luck Bav. Out of interest, when did you order your nano? I ordered mine the minute the UK store came back up so I'm hoping to get mine delivered in London today

Piarco75
09-09-2005, 07:54 AM
bav, what service did they use to ship the nano? I got my other iPods sent to work and I've no idea what company delivered them. Is it royal mail? Recorded or Special delivery? Or someone else....... please don't let it be Amtrak - their nearest depot is in Hayes, Middlesex! I don't stand a chance of picking it up if I'm out when it arrives.......

bav
09-09-2005, 07:54 AM
i ordered it yesterday morning - just before 9am..
u ordered it the previous day - so u should definately get it today :)

bav

iPod newbie here! Been waiting for them to announce a colour version of the Mini before I plumped for one. My wife has a 4GB mini already.

As soon as I heard about the Nano, I got my bro in law in Hong Kong to see if they sell it yet. Hes over there on holidays at the moment. It's on the Apple HK website for $1900 which equates to about £135 for the 4GB so fingers crossed.

I think £180 for it over here in UK is too much for it. I reckon if it was £150 its more realistic but at £180 I much rather spend another £15 and get the 20GB colour iPod from Amazon.

BTW do iPods carry worldwide warranty?

bav
09-09-2005, 08:19 AM
well, with the prices of flash still a bit high if you look at it like this:

£40 per 1gb of flash = £160 for 4gb
+ £20 for colour screen/scroll wheel etc..

It's still good value - plus the size factor.. impossibly small ;)

you're gonna have to cancel whatever it is you're doing this afternoon. And instead, sit at home, put the cricket on and wait for nano..

once the nano arrives, it's party time ;)

Wish it was that easy - my girlfriends coming down for 4 days and I've got to pick her up! I can only hope her train is delayed ;)
1 hour before I have to go...... this is nail biting stuff! Nearly as good as the cricket lol

hell, u just forked out £180 on a nano.. i'm sure you can afford a tenner on cab fare.. LOL..

get your priorities right :P

raybanuk

Yes I guess I keep forgetting its flash memory and not HD based. Still 4GB is plenty for me for tube journies and I'm not one for having my entire collection of music on one device anyway. 1000 songs is more than enough for me.

Love the size of it though and can't to get my hand on it. We will then have a Mini and a Nano and there in lies the fight, which one we use on a daily basis!

BTW has anyone here in UK been to any of the Apple stores (Regents Street, Bluewater etc) to see if its available?

CrouchingDonkey
09-09-2005, 11:26 AM
Ohhh you are all gonna wet your pants when you open up the box!!

I've had mine for about 24 hours now, and I look at it every now and again just to believe it's so small!! I haven't been so excited about a gadget since the Sony PSP (which I've had for a few months now - so kinda old news hehe!)

raybanuk, yes they are available from Apple Store, Regent St, as I got my white 4GB nano from there yesterday. The guy at the till said they'd just received delivery of 16 large crates of them. Not sure how many that equates to, but a hell'ova lot! Though they were selling like hot cakes!

Also, Apple do do worldwide warranties. The HD on my iPod Photo which I bought in NY, died a few months ago. I took it to the Apple Store, Regent St. After checking it they gave me a new one, no questions asked! They printed out a receipt which already had my name and address on, which I was surprised at. The guy said it's because I registered it online - of course! So always register your Apple products!!

(Don't mean to hi-jack this thread, just confirming I totally trust Apple and it's products and buy them with confidence! And no, I don't work for them.)

09-09-2005, 12:27 PM

Been to the Apple Store in Regent Street this Afternoon,

No more Black 4GB Nano's out of stock, more due in next week,

Only a few 4GB White Nano's left when I was in the store,

Picked up 4GB White very sexy indeed, well done Apple,

A few people were returning there black nano's for white ones due to finger prints and dirt ?

I agonised (well was indecisive for a while!) over black or white, and plumped for the white in the end. I prefer the white anyway and was only looking at the black because it was different.

Wish we had a proper Apple shop in Leeds, or at least fewer of the shrugging shouldered spotty youths! Had to order online because they were so vague about delivery dates. My track record for actually being in when Apple products are delivered is pretty low.

Well, my nano arrived at my office this afternoon and believe me it will become your favourite ipod ever the second you open the tiny box. It's a mouthwateringly beautiful piece of kit - just stunning. To my ears it's at least as bassy as my (now somewhat redundant) shuffle.

My other half saw it and, though not usually prone to techno-lust, let out a gasp of amazement. Consequently, I've just ordered another one!

...'nother iPod newbie here.

Got a 4gb black nano on order, also in shipped status as of today (9th) - ordered yesterday (8th).

Had an iRiver U10 2gb on order, but there were delays in shipping.

Now, 4gb for the same money is a real attention grabber, and despite my love of the OGG music format, and after some trials with iTunes and some favourite tracks, I was sold (equivalent audio quality.

I can't wait to get my nano and give it a full shakedown with my Sony MDR-e888LP headphones (note: my trials were using another pair of the same headphones, both OGG and AAC/M4A were played out of my PC's sound system, a Creative Audigy).

Not had my delivery notification e-mail yet [FX: chewing fingers]

Tony.

Hey Bav, I tell you, the nano has a lot to live up to. The iHP-120 is a seriously good player. I was all set to buy a Rio (Karma? - (the 20gb one anyway). When I went looking for reviews, I kept seeing that yes, it was a great player, but there was an even better one (the iHP-120).

It has served me faithfully for quite a while now. It is however, a bit chunky to carry around if you've not got a bag or a coat, so I've been looking at svelte flash-memory players for a while.

I thought I'd made my selection (U10) but I think fate intervened and delayed that beyond the launch of the iPod nano.

Hence, I cancelled my order for that and ordered the nano once I was satisfied AAC could match the superb audio quality of OGG - oh, and it had to double as an alarm clock too.

I'm really looking forward to my nano - at least I can sleep though :D

Has yours turned up this morning bav? Mine was a no-show:( I ordered at the same time as a friend of mine (I called her as soon as the nano was announced on the 7th!) and we ordered literally at the same time. Just been down to Regent Street - the store's very busy and they have both the Nanos in stock except for the 4GB black which they've sold out of. Salesperson mumbled something about getting more of those 4GB black Nanos in a few days. I got a 4GB white - very neat, I'm impressed.

YUP.. got it this morning.. and OH MY GOD..

Just looking at the size of the parcel got me thinking how small is this nano?

Opened the parcel up, and the apple ipod nano box is simply beautiful - in the usual ipod box simplicity..

Removed the sticky tape at the side of the box, opened it up and WOW .. it's SMALL..

Carefully picked the nano out of the box to hold it the first time in my hands..

WOW

Installed software on PC, synced it up to iTunes with a few playlists for starters

.. what can I say? The pictures people post cannot do this thing any justice.. you erally really really REALLY do have to hold this in your hands to believe the hype..

WOW

So far so good, the sound seems to be very good compared to my 3G 20GB using my e3c's..

to be honest, the e3c's are too big for the nano.. lol!!

let me know when you get yours and how you react :)

Do they have a tracking facility? I only see a proof of delivery option. My normal method is to find when the delivery should arrive so im sure someone is in, but without tracking info that is very tough!

Most of the UK deliveries have been from within the UK, not from abroad. A lot of people who ordered the evening of the 7th (therefore processed on the 8th) received their nano's yesterday, and all of the orders show a 1-2 working day delivery time. I've just been one of the unlucky few whose nano is adhering to the 2 day delivery time i.e. Monday.Like I said earlier in the thread a mate who ordered at precisely the same time as me got hers on Friday.

Can't speak for the folks abroad like Denmark though - but the UK nano's are definately shipping from within the country.

I ordered mine on Wednesday evening. It shipped Thursday and it arrived Saturday morning. I have no idea which courier it was. The van was white and unmarked :)

2gig Black Nano and sweet Jesus it's beautiful. I have a 20gig 3G but I'd stopped using that and switched to a 1gig Samsung Yepp for portability. Unfortunately the Yepp has a UI that was designed by insane monkeys. With no hands.

The photos don't do it justice imo and seem to make it look bigger than it actually is. Sound quality is excellent and it's currently sat in my 3G's dock looking very small :)

You know, despite buying a 3G iPod on release, a 2G silver mini on release, and a 60Gb photo on release, I don't recall there being such anticipation - let alone a whole thread - on the arrival of a new product to peeps houses! The nano is going to be such as huge success for Apple, to the point that folks who say that they made a mistake dropping the mini may have to east their words!

I just hope I'm around when mine gets delivered tomorrow - and that the Icewear case gets released sharpish. Oh, and that the lead time on the lanyard headphones drops quickly!!!

Does the nano has a volume cap? I didn't realise..

I always use euPod Pro on my 3G.. I tried the euPod at 50% on the nano and it was really loud, compared to 60% boost on my 3G.. so it made me think that maybe there is no cap on the nano?

anyone else fine similar thoughts?

The message from apple should contain a web order number (starting with a W) and
a delivery reference number. You can put this into TNT's web as a customer reference (only on the web form, note that it's not a consignment number). Hopefully that will bring up the info.

Mine is still showing as accepted for delivery on the 9th September (correct), but as delivered on the 8th August to someone else (er, not correct). However it's just arrived as I'm writing (yea!) but in a squashed box (boo). Fingers crossed.....

my tracking number keeps dissparing from apples order status, also there is now 2 in the more into part, which the 2nd one is correct for the first part of tracking and the 1st number they gave is the 2nd part.

but now i have the numbers its wrkin for tnt site when its not down.

and as far as the ipod cat goes, use gopod, its one of the only ones to uncap the volume rather then boost sound.

Still no sign of mine! I had an email from Apple this morning asking me to re-verify my delivery address, which is a first - never had to do that before.

So in my impatience I went by the Apple store today, thinking I'd just pick up a 4GB version and return my 2GB. But they're totally sold out at the Regent Street store - and they have no idea when they are expecting some in. And the black nano seems to be outselling the white. Plus the armbands are already available, but definately no other accessories.

are they the 4GB or 6GB mins, if the 4, then id sell it, depends which ones u like best.

and ull get more for it if its unopened, and even more if you want a month or so. selling a new unopened or very new mini should get u a bit on ebay as some said they would now pay $$$ for new minis.

Two of my friends have too - and the only reason they entered was to fund a nano purchase! You'll be able to get the majority of the funds needed for the nano from the sale of the Mini..... I'd say definately go for it!

'lo bav - the 2GB in the sig was in anticipation of it being here already! Looks like I jinxed myself. Seeing as I'm waiting this long I've decided to go for the 4GB version, so the 2GB will be going back to Apple. Whats the betting I get the 4GB before the 2GB pitches up?

Well I'd convinced myself that I didn't need the 4GB as I've a 60GB Photo.......
But then after a bit of thought, the 2GB is false enconomy, so ordered one after coming back from the Apple Store. (Had a bit of a play - unbelieveably cool. Even the staff were touting the blacks over the whites - I heard "black is the new black" quite a few times. Which is true according to fashion mags - I've been told ;) )
Plus I may well sell my 60gigger now and make do with the nano until the 5G's come out. I'd be surprised if they didn't release a new flagship model before xmas.........

has your order status changed today then?

Piarco75
09-13-2005, 07:42 AM
Nah, its still "unknown" according to Lynx.
Another mate who ordered one is in the same boat as me. He changed his delivery info after the first attempt to his home, but Lynx still tried to deliver it to his home on the second attempt, despite it now being for his work. He then called Apple to complain and apparantly they've had huge problems with Lynx - to the point that they won't be using them again. No surprise there!

Even if they deliver it today, I'm back at work so it will have to be delivered to me here now, so I'll be calling Apple to change the delivery address to my work address. So I think the 4GB has a real good chance to arriving before the 2GB!

I know selling the 60GB would leave me with 26.8 GB of music stuck on my PowerBook, but I could easily make do until the 5G's get released. They are definately due - Apple has never waited as long to release a next generation iPod. Although the release of the nano does make me wonder if we'll see one soon. I do still want an iPod with enough capacity for my 30-odd GB of music with room to grow, but in a smaller form factor, bluetooth and a change in design. With the nano sporting the traditional chrome and white/black, I think the 5G's may sport the aluminium of the mini...... of course I'm jsut wishing, and that last paragraph really belongs in the Future iPod forum!

:D

GOT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! It can't be legal, can it? It's very svelte.

Was sent by Lynx. Thanks to you guys I'm not trying to hassle TNT (Apple told me it was coming via them). The Lynx parcel number is the 10-digit "delivery reference number" on the "Despatch notification" e-mail.

However, Lynx tried to compound the issue. They apparently couldn't find my house (on a main road) and didn't try ringing me. This was yesterday (Monday). Grrrrr!

So I'm furious with Apple and Lynx, and have just fired off a really pointed e-mail to Apple customer services.

Player itself seems excellent (great sound quality) - though there is some stuff that needs ironing out in a future firmware upgrade.

Doing some serious listening now :D :D :D

Hope you other guys are either enjoying yours now, or in the very near future.

I doubt very much that they will take it back as you didn't buy it from them - all comes down to proof of purchase I'm afraid. Your best bet would be to sell online or via any local noticeboards (I've sold iPods through my work noticeboard). For a brand new unopened 4GB you should be able to get at least £100 up via ebay - iPods do hold their value quite well.....

DELIVERY UPDATE

Still nada. Got a confirmation email from Apple yesterday regarding my home address - that was for the 2GB. Its possible that may be arriving today, but as I'm not home... you know the score.

The 4GB has moved to "shipping" but as yet no tracking number. Maybe its different for business addresses..... but then maybe I'm clutching at straws....... ME WANTS NANO!!!

On another note, some of those Speck cases are cool - the simplest though is always the best - the See-Thru hardcase offers the best protection and maintains the look of the nano. But I'll only want the clear. Maybe we should start a thread for those interested in buying the see-thru case to trade/sell their unwanted colours?

Well I got a shipping number for the 4GB this morning, but it doesn't bring up anything on either the Lynx or TNT site. Great.

I narrowly missed a call before which I'm presuming is the Lynx delivery of the 2GB. I thought they were based nearby, but according to a friend who called to change his delivery address, they actually are based a lot further away. So I'll have to change address too, which will add an extra day. I'm looking at about Friday/Monday for the 2GB to arrive now!

Not sure about the Speck cases size, but if they are anything like the Agent 18 cases for the mini, not a lot of added bulk. Definately not enough to worry about, and they do show off the iPod inside to great effect...

I now have a new delivery number for my replacement but it doesn't show up on TNT at all.

The original was marked as "please call" until just after it arrived, then it was marked as "out for delivery" after the delivery time. Hopeless!

I have a new courier to throw into the mix..... ECF. Has anyone heard of them? Both the 2GB (to be returned) and the 4GB are coming with them, despite Lynx delivering to my friend 5min down the road.

Allegedly the 4GB will arrive today (!)
And the 2GB is out there somewhere with ECF - the Apple bod didn't even know what was going on!

Who've thunk it.... order 5 min after they were announced, wait a week for delivery.... so much for being ahead of the curve:D

EDIT: ECF (Express Cargo Forwarding) don't seem to have a website...... ergo no tracking....

Picked up a black 2gb nano yesterday from a curry's here in North Devon. Very few shops here will stock the nano and the 2 shops i found only had the 2gb model.

2gb is fine for me as i have a 20gb sony nw5 for other uses, the nano is purely for the gym so 2gb is more than enough.

The quality of this thing is amazing, didnt think the screen would be as clear and sharp as it is. sound quality through my shure e2's is very good, not quite as good as my nw5 but not far off.

Soon to be owner of Nano 4Gb (black, of course) seeks advice on courier info..

The delivery reference I have received by email is 10-digit - that doesn't seem to match any of the already discussed couriers code formats... The office at work (where it will be delivered) are notorious for sitting on parcels for weeks (and I've already pestered them a couple of times this morning to see if it's here!!)..

Any ideas who the courier might be???

Anyone else think a health warning might have been appropriate on the nano - everyone who has seen/handled one near here has gone and ordered one the same day!

Nice to see such a large UK nano population happening..

I think you'll be in the same boat as me then - ECF. And after searching Google for about 6 pages, I've yet to find a website for them. Which means the nano will be nigh on untrackable...

gt123 - after the hassle I've had it may be worth the effort! Plus with my experience with educational discounts through the online store, deliveries take longer, sometimes significantly so if a educational check is required. Deffo get into town and get one - instant gratification:D

The 10 digit code may be a customer (rather than consignment) tnt reference.

Tried it as a customer reference too - no luck .. Not that I'd trust the TNT website to be accurate - ta anyhow!

They only have the 4gb white ones in town, so it looks like the colour choice has been made for me. I think i'd rather have white anyway, what with all the reports of scratches showing up more on the black ones.

This is all news to me! Everything I've ordered from Apple, including my shiny new iBook that arrived a couple of weeks ago, has been shipped via TNT (whose tracking facility is flaky at best).

I ordered my nano last week and received the dispatch email on Tuesday morning (at 5.30am!), with an estimated delivery time of 1-2 days. That means it should have arrived by yesterday. Needless to say it still hasn't come.

But my delivery reference doesn't show up on TNT's site, which I thought was unusual, but not too alarming since TNT aren't great at tracking. If Apple are using different couriers that would explain it I suppose.

BTW, how did you find out who your courier was?

I want my nano!!!!

I got tired of checking Lynx, TNT and UPS and gave them a call - and the nice Apple lady confirmed it was a company call ECF. From what I can see they are based in Ireland (figures as thats were the local Apple headquarters is) but they don't have a website to speak of.

I agree its strange - all of my items previously ordered on the Apple Store have been shipped by TNT too. Maybe the demand has been so high they've had to field the work out.....

UPDATE: Just recieved an email from Apple confirming the updated address details I gave them (on Monday!!!!) have been received my ECF.... and they gave me a link. No wonder I couldn't find them - they website is under a completely different name:

Great! Oh well, so long as it comes soon (i.e. today) I don't mind who delivers it.

Here you go: http://www.iec-logistics.com/site/home.asp and https://www.iec-logistics.com/apps/tracktrace/trk_tracking.asp. Good luck with that, looks unpromising to me...

I called my local ECF depot (Hayes) to find out what was happening, and the guy who answered told me they stopped dealing with Apple before Christmas last year! I officially have no idea what is going on.

So I've emailed Apple to clarify what is the current state of play. If any of the nano's arrive before the weekend (despite the fact that the 2GB is going back) I'd be very very surprised.....

The ECF tracking page is pants ... It requires a customer reference, as well as the 10-digit code - nothing apple have linked to the sale, nor anything from my company name/personal details/address seems to trigger it into giving any detail (it always justs fails with 'No records were found for the criteria you selected.').. Looks like a wait :(

If you call Apple on the freephone 0800 number (on the email when you placed the order with Apple), they should be able to tell you the status of your order - ie, where it is en route etc..

Why do Apple keep changing courier? Lynx are crap (even though I erceived my nano next day delivery from Apple direct!!).. can't they just stick with UPS or something? I thought Royal Mail/ParcelForce were bad!! LOL..

Well the 4GB has arrived! Wish I was in a better mood to appreciate it - works been very busy today, and the whole courier thing is just too annoying:mad:
Still its updating as I type this, and I'm sure I'll be enjoying it on the walk home. No idea about who delivered it though.

When I spoke to Apple they confirmed the 4GB was on its way and should arrive today, but they themselves were less sure about the 2GB "give it a day to become clear" was their response. Admittedly it seems that the problem was on the delivery side ......

EDIT: Just calmed down a bit after a good result at work - and now I'm loving the nano! Lynx (!) have just called about the 2GB as well... all good things hey?

One thing I've noticed (beside the sheer tinyness of it & the brilliant colour screen - clearer than I imagined) is that they really area fingerprint magnet.... I feel for you guys with the black ;)

Now bring on the accessories!!!!

I too called Apple earlier to find out what was going on: They're using Lynx for my order and said it had an "out for delivery" status on the 13th. That's the day I got the dispatche email from Apple, so if it had actually been delivered that day it would have been astounding service! Anyway, Apple gave me Lynx's number to call them directly to find out what was happening. The Apple customer service lady also said she would put the request in writing to Lynx, which is standard procedure, but that I should also call b/c calling will be a lot quicker.

So I called Lynx and indeed the nano had been out on the van on Tuesday, but the delivery man couldn't find my road (oh well, after all, it's only his job to do that!!!!) and Apple hadn't passed on my contact phone number, so they couldn't get in touch with me. Now I've given directions and my number they said they'll try again tomorrow, but what would have happened if I'd sat around and waited... and waited some more?

Good grief! If you want something doing etc.

I've had Lynx tell me on two separate (non-apple related) occasions that they couldn't find my road. Despite it being there for over 100 years..........

Genius!

I went and found them despite it being a 50 mile trip to the other side of Manchester - I wasn't risking them trying to redeliver.

Not heard back from Apple yet about a bit of a refund for petrol money.

Looks like I had it easy compared to you guys.

Ordered 1pm Wednesday, delivered by TNT, Thursday AM, less than 24 hours, well impressed, this is for a white 4GB version listed as 5 days on the Apple Education store website. All for the bargain price of 164.50, with no proof requested.

Just noticed that John Lewis now has the Nano in Stock. They have both the white and Black models. If you check the webpage they say they have over 10 in stock.

Hope this helps those of you still waiting for the iPod.

I wonder if the extended warranty that John Lewis' do extends to the iPod range? If so that would be a bonus for anyone still looking to get one....

It really is a great little unit - the only misgiving is that it really does seem to get scratched quickly! I've already had to buff out some scratched with Displex twice - and I think at this rate I'll be investing in some IceCreme. Wierdly the back is still scratch free.....
