View Full Version : Stupid Question... Working Out with nano?

It kind of puzzles me about working out with the latest generation of MP3 players, especially the nano. The MP3 player I have right now for the gym is somewhat like the shuffle, but it has a belt clip. I hate the MP3 player itself (which is why I'm looking into the nano), but I do like the fact that there's a belt clip for it. The clip never gets in the way, it barely feels like it's there when I'm working out (I just clip it on my pants), and it's easily accessible by just sliding it out of the clip to pick the next song.

Now I could be incredibly wrong as I've never used an arm band with an MP3 player before, but I see two problems with it... first of all, it looks like the screen would be hard to see if it's on the side of your arm and you would like to change a song. Second, suppose you're lifting weights or doing exercises with your arms that enlarge your arm muscles. Wouldn't that mark the arm strap incredibly uncomfortable? I've never used it so I wouldn't know, but it's hard to imagine it not being a problem..

I could have posted it in the regular iPod forums I guess, but I never considered taking my 60 gig brick to the gym. If you use an arm band, do you run into those problems? How long do you think it'll take before a belt clip for the nano is intruduced? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated..

Well, I think the Arm Bands are mainly for runners..they don't have to flex their arm muscles much...

I give the manufactures about 2 months to design and release a belt clip. In the meantime, you might look at some cell phone cases..they might fit.

u woudn't have any problems wearing the armband as long as u get one that stretches.

but are you really gonna be lifting weights with a $200 mp3 player attached to your arm? one lil accident and that screen is cracked!

Hey-hey, when you are working out, yer suppose to CONCENTRATE on what you are doing, not doing the Jacko's moonwalk... :D
