Transfer speed?

I'm curious what the transfer speed will be. Hopefully same speed as the iPod Mini. The Shuffle is way too slow (felt a lot more like USB 1.)

it will be closer to the shuffle since it's flash memory. The shuffle can be really slow if you have it set to convert high bitrate songs to 128kbps AAC.

I also read somewhere that the controller chipset was mainly responsible for the slow Shuffle write time.

I guess we'll see. If it is as slow as the Shuffle, that will be a significant negative for me.

The nano's chipset is by PortalPlayer, which has done all the iPods except for the Shuffle. The Shuffle had a Sigmatel chipset.

The Shuffle was slower than it should've been. I have USB2 flash drives that I am almost positive transfer data faster than the Shuffle. Also, I get faster transfer from the CompactFlash card from my digicam hooked up to a USB 2 card reader.

So I'm optimistically predicting the nano will be faster than the Shuffle at transfers...
