hey guys, i was just wondering what you were thinking. Does the Nano have a port for remotes and itrips like the minis or just for headphones like the shuffle?
And apple currently has the buy a mac get a mini free.. you think this will transfer to the nano?
Thanks!

no remote port
The nano just has a headphone jack. However it's beside the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod, so there are possibilities there for iTrip style devices, as IIRC the remote connector's pins were replicated in the dock connector on previous iPods.

I was all set to buy an ibook w/ a free mini today, but when I loaded apple.com, there splashed the nano. Now I'm holding off until I find out. I'm reasoned to believe apple wants to liquidate the mini inventory, but you never know, hopefully the nano will 'count'

I think you will be able to get a nano as the deal says that you can get a 4GB mini or have $199 towards the purchase of a new iPod as long as you get your iPod and PowerBook/iBook at the same time. Currently, there are hardly any accessories that will work with the nano other than the basic headphones or FM adapters that go through the headphone port alone.
There will be more accessories soon...

Question: Does the 'buy a mac get a free ipod mini' education store offer extend $179 towards ipod nano like it does towards other ipods?
Answer: The ipod Nano is not an eligible ipod included in the Student Union rebate.
