Hello Everyone,
I just bought the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 pro online through apple.ca after many long hours of reading the reviews on this board. I tried to justify them to myself, but in the end, it's always the same. I just want them. My wife jokes that I just go from one purchase to the next, all the while stating that this is my last big purchase for a while.
Anyways, I'll keep you updated on how I like them.
Kindest regards,
Ves
Funny how that works, ain't it?
There's always just one more thing...doh!
Anyway I just got the 5 pro's yesterday and they are quite simply outstanding. Traded up from shure e3c's. The difference is like night and day. Enjoy them - in the doghouse if you must!

I have several pairs of ear/headphones now. I just got the UE S.f 5 EBs and my girlfriend didn't even notice! We have separate accounts, so its a little easier to still get away with stuff like that...

:D Thanks for the info. Now I'll make out my list of items and give them to you so that I won't accidently reveal this info to her by mistake.

LOL.
I had said to myself when I bought my Shure e4c, this is the last big purchase of the year, and in 3 weeks, I bought Westone UM2. I had said to myself again. This is the last, and now I am looking at UE 10 pro.

Oh your sure about that UE 10 pro being your last purchase of headphones?
question about the UE 5 pros. Do you find microphonics s prblem? Like is it hard to work out in them? I have read somewhere that since the cord is thin you can hearit in your ear if it bangs around. This is what I love about the e3c headphones because the cord is thick I can not hea rit when it moves so its perfect for working out.
Yes I would say that the cord is more microphonic than the e3c. However I find that the cord is sooo light and thin compared to the shures that I am willing to put up with the slight increase in noise. I find the shure cord way too heavy for the size of the phones. Felt like the cord was always trying to tug out them out.

I think I will have to pray very hard.
Anyway, I think this forum is very informative. If it won't for this forum, I will be still using the stock iBud.

ENJOY THEM, i certainly do! they are awesome and I'll never go back to the Sony's. Night/Day. Its like a whole new listening experience. But the one thing that is an issue with me is the way they look. They stick out of your ears and you look like frankenstein but hey, the sound is the best. If you like bass then be sure to check these out over the E4Cs

Thanks everyone for your support in these hard time of earphone purchasing. I can use this forum to demonstrate to my wife how much happier I will be with these earphones, and thus, make her happier in turn. I haven't quite found the way to break the news to her yet. I guess with the "Frankinsonnian" look I'll be sporting, I'll have no choice but to tell her.
Thanks,
Ves

E4 has better bass than the super.fi 5 pro, just not on an iPod =D

Hello Everyone,
Just arrived, and they're CRAZY! I can't believe how good they sound, almost as if I've never heard these songs before. You really need to get a good seal. I've also come to realize what they mean by noise isolation. I can't hear anything but music and my teeth banging together. I'm dumbfounded that the truck driver would even consider wearing these while driving, that's dangerous.
Take care,
Ves

Glad to hear you like it, so how is your wife's reaction I really wanna know. Or are you just going to wear that from now on whenever she is nagging?

Couldn't find my 5 pro's this afternoon. Where were they? My wife had them stuck in her head listening to her mini!
Seems that she now has a little better understanding of my POV concerning the 5 pro expenditure. So fellas, maybe the best way to get them purchases approved is either to share them or better yet buy 2!
(BTW her mini is a hand-me-down from me. Seems the wife is diggin' that too after ridiculing me about my extravegant spending just a few months ago. Now there will be no problem justifying the accessorizing of her kit for her car! LOL)

haha, maybe all of us should move to UE5c, so the wives won't be able to use it, and you will not need to buy one for yourself later on.

Then you would be sleeping in the dog house. And this time for real.

Hey, I saved and bought the UE 10's. They were the best money I've spent in a long time. No complaints only great sound. My only wish is I could let other's hear so they would understand why I spent the money!
