so the itunes phone, is really just software for motorola phones, which works with bluetooth. but does anyone know if apple has any plans for an actual "iPod" Phone? a phone with all the space of an ipod, and the sleekness of a motorola and apple mix?

I doubt there will be an ipod with phone capabilities, people buy the ipod for music not to make a call.
I suspect however in time that instead of carrying several devices we will end up carrying one device that does everything ie is a phone, takes pictures, plays videos but not until battery technology gets way better.

I tend to agree. Until battery life is more efficient and flash memory is cheaper, we probably won't see a device with full iPod capacity.
Something about a hard drive in a phone seems like a recipe for problems...
On the other hand, the Motorola solution is pretty close to iPod-style functionality on a phone (iTunes integration, an iPod-like menu system, etc).

i think the ipod/itunes phone will work. i have the new zealand version of the sprint pcs sanyo 5600 phone, which has an inbuilt mp3 player. i use this all the time and tend to leave th ipod at home, as i prefer to carry around one smaller device instead of two. the nz version comes standard with a 1gb miniSD card, which i admit is a tad small, but works for me. if my phone had itunes intergration it would make life a helluva lot easier and would make the phone more user friendly. i think an itunes phone will be a success..
